That's what *I* would've felt. But she got her revenge by using it to make her career. He got branded a jerk in the process.

I get you. Yet I see actors getting cheers and whistles etc for playing angry, corrupt , massy or no nonsense cops.

Now when an actress is doing that, let's give her a chance.

My comment was in no way a judgement on DP. I'm actually glad she's diversifying and proving that a commercial heroine need not be just a second fiddle to the hero.

I was commenting more on Rohit Shetty and his brand of cinema or the police characters we often see on screen - over the top, macho individuals with no regard for laws. They could easily write characters like Sonakshi's from Dahad or Vartika from Delhi Crime, but they wouldn't. The writers, directors are to blame, not the actor.

I also do not agree that it is better for women cops (in fact even men) to be portrayed as unhinged and alpha just because the social gender balance is skewed. A cop could be a hot head, stubborn and fierce even without the hysterics.
