Just my 2 cents on today’s episode-

In this episode, we could clearly witness Zaid’s mind being “all over the place”. For a lot of people, his actions can give out bratty teenager vibes but he’s visibly struggling with past feelings and is finding it incredibly challenging and overwhelming in dealing with his new relationship.

Zaid is someone who doesn’t engage in extensive decoding or reading between the lines.He values clear and direct communication, and this can sometimes lead to a preference for taking things at face value(Eg-Ayras mood swing scene - she told him to leave n he left,he couldn’t see through his dad’s/sister’s lies and deceptions and even in today’s episode he just believed Ayra’s words).

His indifference and rudeness towards Mub is because of his lingering feelings and a lack of closure from Ayra.He is regretting his impulsive action big time and this emotional baggage is not going to let him move on that easily! He is venting his frustrations from his relationship with his father onto Mub as he finds her to be an easy target.

I loved the self-deprecation scene- “yes,I am a loser” between Z and his dad;it resonated with me.Here’s a person who has lost in love and is using this as a defense mechanism to cope with his feelings of inadequacy/rejection/heartbreak.

Mub is trying really hard to make this relationship work;She has always respected him for his forthright nature but little did she know that she’d be stuck with someone as complex as Z. Z is as complex n flawed as Mub if not more!

This oldie might have been one hottie back in the days

All the young guys look like kids in front of him.

I loved the last scene. Instead of switching the lights on she should have poured a glass of water over his empty head

That dumbo is actually blaming her divorce for his condition and not his hot daddy or fickle minded gf?

Actually that “I am a loser” line stuck with me too. He’s experiencing feelings of rejection and doesn’t really know why any of this happened. I guess it’s why he ended up at Ayra’s place - to get answers. She instead harshly told him to leave and he’s left feeling further rejected and without any proper closure. I also agree that he is completely regretting his impulsive decision to marry MJ. These new lies being fed to him is further complicating things. He definitely needs time to heal.

Interesting thoughts about how he takes people’s words at face value. Maybe that’s why it’s difficult for him to see that there is more to MJ than what he has seen throughout the years. Like you mentioned, he isn’t in the right headspace right now so he probably is unable to see anything deeper in MJ anyway. He’s busy dealing with his own feelings.

I feel Fahad Mustafa is making the editors go over every episode and add more vaping shots just coz the female viewers are losing it

At this point Mubashira should go after Zaddy and then divorce Zaid once Zaddy agrees to marry her. Why wouldn't Asif want a young beautiful wife bruh

If she does this and it ends RJ-Kashmala's marriage, andar se I am sure Rayaan will rejoice becoming single once again

Zaddy and MJ will make on powerful young girl older guy couple. Zaid will straight away kill himself if that happens . That will be such a game of thrones moment

Kashmala is sucha funny name. In Malayalam kashmalan means a pervert

Strictly my opinion,

Mein is enjoyable only if you are willing to meet the characters in the middle. This story can be viewed from multiple viewpoints because nothing is handed to u on a platter. If one just perceives these characters at face value then their actions will be absurd. None of these characters are meant to be likeable / rooted for atleast not until the transformation begins. It clearly depicts 2 extreme levels of parenting and the repercussions of it. Asif is a classic toxic parent who still chastises and bosses a grown-up son ( Zaid just succumbs to him because he knows that he’s fighting a lost battle and normally such kids try to avoid confrontations and would want to be left alone) and Jaffar is a classic case of permissive/indulgent parenting who completely overlooks the mistakes of Mub.

Mein has a great storyline and interesting characters who are all flawed BUT Badar is effing it up with his bad execution. Despite this, it still offers much to chew on every week.

@bold: Say this louder! I found it hilarious that Aamna too mentioned this when they started reviewing Mein again The real GoT moment for me was when MJ is threatening Rayaan at the Walima and I blanked out thinking some desi Cruel Intentions is going on

That's Desi GOT again with the incest. In cruel intentions they were step siblings and not even half siblings.

Kashmala means a pervert and kundi in Malayalam means ass. If we put the Malayalam meaning to the 'kundi mat katkao Raja seedha andar aao Raja' will have a whole different meaning

Also chor in Malayalam means rice.
