In that Ramleela scene ,despite her being the author backed one as in getting the best dialogues and the last word(talking about just that scene because I haven’t yet watched the entire movie), Ranveer easily outshines her. There is a reason why films are in the works(because he is an excellent actor)..There are budget issues though.. understandably.

It is fun to read all the essays on DP the bad actor.Lot of good actors round.. but the film business wants to earn from the good acting.

I think RKR overshadowed (or ate alive) Ayushmann in Bariely ki Barfi, and I know this is actually a popular opinion. Sometimes, actors do overshadow others, say for the acting or because their character is given the limelight in the scene, but you cannot imagine a Arjun Kapoor having the same swag and strut as RKR in Bariely ki Barfi.

Jaideep himself managed to overshadow Ayushmann in Action Hero and Vijay and Kareena in Janejaa, one because of his comic timing and talent and other simply his character was more layered out of the three.

In sholay amjad khan easily ate amitabh and dharmendra and sanjeev kumar

Only hema malini could shine there with her non stop chatters apart from smaller dacoit gang members like kaliya

In mughal e azam i thought dilip kumar will outshine prithviraj and madhubala, but madhubala outshone akbar and salim you sympathize with her more although akbar and salim both acted well but you do not feel for them. Indeed after anarkali, salim friend durjan singh gets most sympathy and claps

On another context..perhaps acting.No actress's career survived after being cast in a Deepika film.They went on to do much smaller films than they did before.

No hero survived for long either.They all have had to go through the post Deepika slump period.

Though I'm curious to know why the actors/actresses who work with her go through post Deepika slump. Is it something related to Deepika herself, or could it be that the actors just can't bounce back after working with her? Or maybe it's all just in a fan's mind?

The actresses not doing well after DP films ..I dont know why really.DP became invincible after Bajirao Mastani-Her fanbase just grew.I believe it is the Mastani costume,song and dance.YJHD too brought in a wave..But nothing like BM-I think the Arab nations just loved the look.What works,one can never predict.

Saif,SRK,RS, RK all those who got hits with DP...and then couldn't get the same response.. I don't know..Did the actors act badly in other films?..It is not just about "ACTING"

But saif and konkona just did such a good job with it, that’s all I remember from omkara (apart from bheedi jalaile)

Don't agree with Jaideep here. Like many pointed out PC in Bajirao Mastani stood out coz of her acting. The film was about Mastani and Bajirao. Their love story, their longing , their chemistry but PC as Kashibai absolutely stole the show with much less screentime and importance. IG is till date flooded with so Kashibai reels.

I miss PC in Bollywood. Sigh !

It seems like it might just be a coincidence. Ranbir had that massive success with "Sanju," and actors usually have a longer career than their female counterparts. So, I think Ranbir and Ranveer might deliver more and bigger hits compared to Deepika eventually. Plus, Deepika hasn't really done anything as iconic as Mastani herself.

Pooja Bhatt ate alive Madhuri Dixit in prem Deewane despite having a role of a bimbo, and not a better actress then Madhuri

Karishma ate Madhuri alive in DTPH in not such a great role and in a side role and not been a better actress then MD.

So the theories of shaping up a good character by the writer, or even the performances just fails here.
