Story till date

Hi All! I joined this forum a day or two ago when YouTube algorithm brought up the first episode on my home page. I watched it n needless to say I was hooked. Binge watched all episodes till date. Here are my thoughts on this fabulous fabulous show.

pro:

1. Acting: top notch not just by the leads but also the supporting characters. I have watched Mishkat before and I have always liked his acting but Sumbul is such a revelation for me. This is her first show I’m watching and she is doing a fantastic job!! Always been a fan of Vinay Jain. The other actors I don’t know their names but everyone absolutely nailing their part.
2. story : refreshing to see woman empowerment in the truest sense on Indian tv Atleast until now. I have hopes since this is on Sony tv they will stick to the original plot and not bring in needless leaps to cover for the lack of creativity.
3. screenplay and writing: tight script n screenplay, crisp editing, ably directed…such good flow…I actually was mentioning elsewhere that some other “writers” need to take a workshop from this team on actually how to write. But I digress.

4. Coming to the actual characters:

Kavya Bansal

She is the true embodiment of folks who come from middle class and work hard to climb up the ladder and are supported by their family through thick n thin. Every moment the way her thoughts loop in her dad n his aspirations for her, her mom’s love n concern, her brothers pride reflecting in his eyes …just mind blowing narrative, so close to reality , so true to our roots…the way her idealism has not left her as yet despite all adversities…her leaving her UPSC interview to save the suicidal guy…this is what inspiring tales are made of…the reference to her slogging hard at her prep..best was her realizing that she or anyone should never ever sacrifice their hard earned seat for anyone not even your partner…if the partner is asking for that…he or she is not worthy to be your partner …I can’t wait to see her Officer Trainee to IAS officer journey

Shubh:

he is the classics average patriarchal male who thinks his girl’s universe should revolve around him without his universe revolving around her. Very well acted by the guy (I don’t know his name) but the frustration, the pettiness , the selfishness, the real patriarchal s*** which exists in our society …he brought all that to the screen so kudos to his acting

Adhiraj:

Very interesting…what did he say…free flowing…😅 I like it.. the best dialogue from him was in the stand up comedy when he says she is not talking about you …she is talking about herself …touched to the core of the issue. …sometimes it is good for men to start thinking that not everything is about them

Officer Thakur:

They couldn’t have chosen a better actor than Vinay Jsin to play this role. They should know they have a gem with them n I really hope they utilize him n his talent. The emotions he brought up in the first week itself… proud guru, dejected father, starts to do the right thing but then gets distracted by love fir his son, the conflict he shows when kavya Keri’s referring to his gyan only …like he knows from within he us doing wrong but the dark o poo art takes over n he dies it regardless laying step backs for kavya

minister Pradhan:

Mind blowing acting. The flaky minister changing his tune from exercising undue authority at the railway station to clapping for janta Janardan on being defeated by Jsvya…lol it was such a fun watch …

I really can write longer essays but overall gist is I’m loving this show…even if it doesn’t get trp not being on some other regressive channel it truly deserves a rank in top five overall

Awesome analysis of each character of this well executed storyline.

Kavya a show that does keep.interest of the viewers.

After a long time I'm back watching an ITV show.

About TRP being an international viewer, I know it does not count and I truly don't get how this work..

For me what matters is how well the concept is being executed and how the main protagonists ,antagonists with their acting skills add the plus point in the show to keep viewers interest.

This I agree this show deserves to be in top Five.

Let's see how the twist brought by the Guru as obstacle in kavya's path unfolds and how she faces the trauma of the past..

I am in same position as you. An international viewer and don’t really watch ITV. This just came up while browsing and caught my attention. Watched the first episode and loved the premise, characters, execution and acting.

My worry is with its political setup it doesn’t get ugly and messy as story progresses. My hope is they find a good balance of Kavya’s journey as IAS, her life and politics around.

I’m expecting it yo turn messy but keeping my fingers crossed they keep doing the great writing job they have been doing so far
