If you point out their stunning, relentless hypocrisy,

say we point out some animal rights activists and no meat proponents

themselves eating meat (This is purely hypothetical),

their supporters would say

'There's no definitive research suggesting a direct link between engaging in animal activism and preference to eating meat'
