SRK fans should chill and be happy. I don’t understand the need of the debate at all, it’s like the way Ronaldo fans call Messi winning World Cup as rigged, similarly nothing changes the fact that Gadar 2 will remain the biggest hit of the year in terms of profit and footfalls. No harm in accepting it.

Gadar 2 beat Pathan on its 48 th day and today is its 49 th day. In which world is 48 days is 2.5 months?

Another trivia. Despite constant clashes week after week Gadar kept cruising forward and took 48 days to beat what Pathaan made in 50 days that too with absolutely no other bigger movie in the theaters. Gadar had competition from day 1 with every week a new movie releasing namely OMG2, Ghoomar, Dream Girl 2, Blue Beatles & Jawan.

A particular fanbase doesn't have an explanation why BOI reduced its own reported collection after 8 months. Why Harminder gives more collections than the producers of Gadar2.

A movie which earned only 30 lakhs more than Pathan in Hindi belt is definitely not the biggest hit . An ATBB movie should work everywhere. Na ki only in North India.

1. Cheap ticket rates = more footfalls .

for e.g. After buy 1 get 1 offer , Jawan Day 22 occupancy was almost double of Day21 . But no significant change in collection.

2. Gadar2 footfall was slightly more than Pathan in Hindi belt . But overall Pathan wins .

Who said Pathan is bigger hit than Bahubali2? Pathan Hindi was an ATG(n ATB) , just like Gadar2 was for a day .

If u talk about ROI then add OTT rights, Satelite rights n music rights too . Pathan OTT was freaking 100crs . Satelite , record price. Music, biggest hit.

Gadar2 will probably air on sasta zee5 that nobody watches. Flop .Music - avg, dint make any noise

Jawan anyway will be most successful bollywood movie this year collecting more than 600 cr India and 1000+ worldwide .

The same could be said to other fandoms who keep trying to undermine SRK’s success by claiming the box office accounts are rigged. I’ve seen that happen constantly in the forum with his haters hehe-haha-ing and taking digs. If you take a dig then be prepared to cop it as well. It’s a tit for tat world. I’m not referring to you but just generally talking about how the forum is running at the moment.

The whole debate is pathetic. Gadar was a big hit, good for Sunny and the team. Pathan and Jawan was a big hit, good for SRK and the team. Both fandoms should stop undermining both successes and just be happy that Bollywood is making a comeback. Lord have mercy. You have two actors swimming and relishing in their money while I’m counting every dollar to make sure my broke ass doesn’t starve until next pay day. WHO CARES. This applies to SRK fans too.

Indeed.

The domestic boxoffice is divided into language-wise boxoffice and all-India boxoffice (=all languages in which the movie could be watched).

BOI and Taran (and maybe other trade analysts) focus on the HINDI language nett boxoffice (Taran, although, also publishing the other languages as an extra). Of course, that is no problem if the movie only got released in Hindi (like Gadar 2).

Sacnilk (and others) publishes the all-India nett collection (but lists that of the different languages behind in parentheses), so one has a very good comparison base.

BOI indeed lowered the HINDI nett collection (for whatever reason) for Pathaan by deducing about 12 cr...and they had been the only one of those I know. The all-India nett boxoffice is, imo, out of Gadar 2's reach.

I don't know numbers about the footfalls except those written here.

Still, I maintain that Gadar2 is a special case because it wouldn't even have happened without Gadar...it's in no way a 'stand-alone' movie like Pathaan and Jawan.

Elim, why not just giving Gadar 2 its due...and leave the rest?

Why not just enjoy what Pathaan achieved without trying to lower Gadar 2's achievement?

One can be an SRK fan, an SRKian without focussing on a movie (here Gadar 2) that released with other conditions.

Pathaan has absolutely nothing in common with Gadar 2 that one could compare in a fair way.

Leave Gadar 2 to its own and its own success.
