I wouldn't take it seriously. Chinese dramas also have this concept, a lot. Itv also had it for a while. Don't know if it is still a trope because I don't follow any at this point. Then you hear of the concept of polygamy in the Middle East and then open marriages in the West. It's a pretty universal concept with cultural tweaks. So I wouldn't associate it a specific country or culture alone.

I was just thinking the same. Aryan Singh Rathore was something else – until a certain point, I think. I didn’t watch the pregnancy track onwards so don't know what they made of him. Sigh.

YEahhh.. I saw that it had aired and then forgot to discuss it with you...actually we should have a watch party for the first episode so we can have in depth discussion....

yeahh..those initial episodes were wonderful. I stopped watching after that one post-wedding epi where Imlie went all overboard...and then maybe I watched a couple more...don't remember but lost interest.

I wish they had taken the show in the direction of Imlie the journalist with Aryan her supportive and long-suffering boss....that was what got me hooked.
