The pitch was not an easy one ans as such chasing 214 was not going to be easy. Bumrah and Siraj took 3 quick wickets to dent the top-order and then when Sadeera and Asalanka were forging a stand, Kuldeep Yadav came on and broke that. Then Jadeja took over to reduce Sri Lanka to 99/6 but DdS and Wellalage brought their side back into it with a 63-run stand. At that stage it was Sri Lanka who were slightly ahead but DdS in trying to hit a boundary holed out and despite Wellalage hanging in there, the others caved in. The pitch did not help the spinners as much as it did in the first innings, but India were relentless with their attack and fielding.
