Please explain your vote. My impression from the September 11-12, 2023 episodes:

I don't see much scope for Imlie^3 to continue in the role of cowherdess, or bar singer, or even to reach her goal of becoming a chef. If the story is going in the direction of a marriage of convenience, it's predictable that the plot will revolve around placating in-laws and standing up for her man.

Agastya doesn't have any redeeming qualities so far. I guess, his pattern of trying to leave and halting as soon as he hears Imlie^3's voice is supposed to convey an autonomous attraction to her, but does he appreciate beauty in anything else? His words are invariably ugly.

It's a cliché that the leads hate each other at first sight, but when they're not even making eye contact while sparring, I'm not feeling any kind of spark.

Cannot say anything right now as Hulu has not been adding episodes since episode 933 where Imlie 2 and Atharva die. Monday and Tuesdays episode are not yet up. Looks like for Hulu Imlie is off air LOL smiley37smiley37smiley37smiley37

kekeke.. I gave up on Imlie during season 2 and stopped watching except for reading the occasion updates. not sure if season 3 will be any improvement.

the biggest mystery is why successive generations will keep naming their daughters Imlie and no one gets confused to which Imlie is being referred to. surely, there are other names that could be given to a baby? who is so arrogant to name their daughter after themselves? smiley37smiley37

Yes, the show that told the story of Imlie^2 is over. The new show about Imlie^3 is now two episodes along, telling an entirely different and unconnected story.

Each generation of Imlie is a remake of a different Bengali story copied from Star Jalsha.

Imlie^3 knows that she is the daughter of Imlie^2 and Atharva, but none of the other established characters have appeared since the leap. Kairi's funeral pyre was shown on the September 12 episode. There is now a male descendant: Imlie^1 -> Imlie^2 -> Kairi -> Ashu.

When it's rare for Indian fathers/sons to have the same name with suffixes like Sr., Jr., III, IV or nicknames like Chip, Trip, and Trey, it is truly extraordinary that Imlie^2 was named after her mother and passed on the legacy to her daughter. I've seen this on an American show, Gilmore Girls, where a teenage single mother named Lorelai named her daughter after herself. There was a Marathi movie, Sāṅgatye Aikā (1959), in which a woman named Haṃsā dies giving birth to a daughter, and so the baby is named Haṃsā. Marathi people have a custom that you never name a baby (or charity, business, house etc.) after a living person.

Agreed on the actors. Imlie^3 is an unbelievably self-assured character in monumentally oppressive situations, but Adrija Roy's acting is convincing and engaging.

Sai Ketan Rao's acting talent showed in Mehandī Hai Racanevālī, which made his character's feelings the focus of every scene. Agastya is still a poorly defined character, overreacting to every situation, remark, gesture etc. from the other characters but not taking any action that drives the plot forward.

I can't follow the villagers' dialect very well, but I don't speak Hindi either. So, if the dialogues hinted at where the story is headed, it may have gone over my head.

I agree with that too, Adrija Roy is doing a great job...no overacting no cringe moment till now. I have never seen this actress before but she is doing a very good job atleast the makers didn't apply black color on her to make her skin dark.

So whats the story about ...in today's episode Imlie has a nephew who is sick and oh let me guess...she marries Agastya to provide for her nephew...that's it!smiley22 Yeh kuch naya kar rahe hai yeh log...like literally are they in short of writers.

Well let's see..you should not judge a book by its cover right

And the winner of the wrestling match is ...

That tenacious wig!

Almost the entire September 13 episode was spent introducing quirky characters who have teasing relationships with the triple-named hero Gattu = August = Agastya Singh Chaudhari. Neither Imlie^3's story nor Gattu's story progressed, but we learned that Gattu believes in following laws and ethics himself, not only keeping women and the poor out of sight.

Gattu calls his half-sister Dīdī and she calls him Lallā, so she's older, right? Either his father had children from three different women or, if Choṭī Mā Alaka is Dīdī's mother, Gattu's birth to the senior wife upset Alaka's tidy life with her children set to inherit everything.

Is anyone's opinion changing between promising and disappointing?
