Im a South Indian and I grew up watching south movies …

I’m also not an idiot who dosent see the pattern here when some Hindi speaking people jump on the bandwagon to praise them…it’s not genuine it’s just because it fuels an agenda they have with religion or politics ….

Like they hyped the hell out of karthikeya 2 (Telugu) purely because there was a single scene describing lord Krishna …whether the rest of the film is upto mark or not is immaterial

Post baahubali I saw how people used poor prabhas to bring down the khans and Also saw how they hyped adipurush when it was announced and quickly dropped it like hot potato when they saw the visuals getting trolled …and spewed vitriol against it like never before …

I don’t trust these “ugte sooraj ko salaam” types who just go after the current successful thing and ghusao their agenda in there….

For me a film is either good or bad

Not good because it has “sanskari” things or bad because it has “videshi” culture

also I feel BW is way more inclusive than most south industries. BW where a middle class Muslim outsider became one of the biggest stars, a mixed faith Salman was equally loved by audience so was a Hindu Hrithik Roshan… who btw never used his religion as a card to gain favors or fans

I don’t see same diversity in South Indian industry esp Telugu industry…

Not true. Lagaan was a mega hit, Gadar was a bigger hit than lagan.. but definitely not 2%-5%..

Sorta but there are examples of outsiders breaking through in all industries …Chiranjeevi was an outsider and from a caste that wasn’t dominating the industry at that point …ofcourse he’s now launched an entire cricket team of nepos into the industry 🥲
Dulquer(Muslim) has done 2 direct Telugu films and both were massive hits (mahanati and sita ramam) …Samantha is a huge star there and she’s a Christian …Adivi sesh was an NRI dude with an American accent again , not belonging to the “popular” caste and he’s now got a market of his own ..Mohanlal is loved even in the Telugu states …

Rajnikanth is a marathi and was a bus conductor who didn’t even know Tamil and he made it big in the Tamil industry …same with Yash who was a Bus driver’s son and came from a very humble background till he became big in kannada and made kgf…

As far as faith related diversity is concerned, it might also be related to the region and its demographics …kerela has a large percentage of all 3 Christian, Muslim and Hindu population so u see that diversity in their superstars too (mohanlal, mammoty, fahadh , nivin pauly)

….Karanataka not as much, mostly Hindu population ……same with Andhra and Telangana (there is a Muslim population but they speak dakhni I believe…) so most of their superstars are also Hindu .…Tamil nadu has Christian and Hindu population so their superstars are also a mix of both (Vijay Joseph , vikram Kennedy, ajith, surya)

Sunny Paajee still salty about Lagaan's acclaim and accolades😆 but it is true that nobody acknowledged from the industry, what a massive monstrous hit Gadar was..ask us Lagaan fans..I was so upset that Lagaan was a superhit and Gadar was an ATG with thunderous footfalls..but the industry - no nada..nothing..only KJo mentioned that K3G released in a year where Gadar made all the money and Lagaan got all the acclaim..😆

Just admit lagaan is the goat n gadar made good money and this sequel is just banking on that popularity.
