Yes, I know about the 2% commission thing. But even if it's one of the most sought-after societies, plots don't sell this faster. It takes time. In the end, it was all very convenient for her to gather this much money, which was unrealistic, imo.

I completely agree with you about Alia behaving out of character and she and Salman were just there to move Asfar's story. This dragged the serial even though it was only 26-27 episodes long.

Plots sell like hot cakes in big cities esp if it's made for rich people. The plots were already half sold when the partnership between asfar and his sister happened. Then the rest of the plot price were increased by 50%.

By the last 4-5 episodes keeping Aaliya as a mystery just to drag the love triangle was frustrating. Going by the iv it was nadeem baig and not Aagaji that wanted it. Aagaji in his iv said Nadeem taught him how to make the audience crave till the last moment . Also for almost 10 episodes they made Aaliya and Salman go in circles and at the end didn't even give a proper conversation of these two but they had more than enough time to show everything related to asfar.

It definitely has flaws. The issue was that they added so many tracks. That they were not able to focus on any of them properly. Still I feel KA was a decent watch because of amazing performances and few characters.

I thought I was the only one who was disappointed. When I saw the promo, I was so excited because Sajal and Bilal is a dream cast and the tone of the drama was giving me Suno Chanda slash Zindaagi Gulzar Hai vibes. But when I actually watched, these were my biggest concerns:

  • The camera angles were really odd. I usually don't notice technical aspects of a drama, but it got to the point where I couldn't properly see the actors' faces and expressions.
  • I wish we got more development and scenes of the "falling in love" phase between Sajal and Bilal's characters. They didn't get enough screen time in the beginning and I wish they could have gone slower with showing Salman's interest in Aliya so that we could feel more attachment to their pairing.
  • I wanted to know more about Aliya. I felt like we should have gotten more of her inner voice dialogue or a scene which gives insight into what her vulnerabilities were. They spent so much time with support characters, that I felt the protagonist got sidelined and half-baked.
  • The screenplay felt haphazard. I love a good ensemble-cast drama but there is a way to showcase your support characters tracks while keeping the development and pace of your main characters steady. For example, a large portion of an episode was dedicated to the house helper's son going to school but it could have been distributed evenly throughout the series while balancing the leads.
  • Lastly, as you mentioned, they tried to tackle so many different themes and social issues, but wasn't able to explore them enough.

What I loved about this drama - Sajal's styling and her big doey eyes. ❤️ Her wavy hair style was cute and yaar, her wardrobe was chef kiss. I swear, she can make any outfit look amazing.

I agree about what you said about plots. But the most unrealistic part was that Aliya was crying in the previous episode that she couldn't arrange money. She had like one week before her taaya arrived in Pakistan. But, in the next week, she had all the money to pay not only the taaya but phupho ass well. That was unrealistic!

I agree with all you have said. Nadeem Baig is usually a good director. His projects are worth watching. IDK what went wrong here!

The company gave her the money within a week. It's not like all the plot sold out in a week and she got the money and all this happened in a week. The plot might have been already sold but it takes time to get all the paper works done for the company to pay her and she didn't know if she will get the money before her taaya arrives but she finally got it. The main problem is they didn't show how much time has passed in the drama. We don't know for how many weeks or months samiya has been married or Aaliya worked for asfar or salman worked for shehrish. This problem is there in literally all pak dramas.

Also I still don't know why they showed a scene of Aaliya applying for loan. I guess just to show a forced asfar-aaliya scene like always. That loan scene made everything confusing. Majority thought she got the money because asfar uspe meherbaan hue and approved the loan and she got the money. In one scene they showed Aaliya telling samiya that she was able to pay everyone because of asfar and in the next she got offended and angry at salman for stating the same. This 2% commision was clear only when the writer and director told it on their iv. The makers completely messed up the love triangle and totally sidelined the lead pair for the second lead. That's were the entire drama went downhill.

I still love the drama but it had a lot of potential to be way better. They managed to get perfect casting. Everyone fit the part and everyone acted good. Some of the scenes are so heart touching that even when I watch it again its as beautiful as I have seen it for the first time.I don't have problem with any of the other stories and the drama had great dialogues and all of salman and Aaliya scenes were so well written and well acted. Bilal and sajal looked so organic and natural together.

I guess it's because he don't know how to handle an essemble cast and they were way too into recreating pak dramas from the 80s and 90s.

When an essemble cast is handled the makers need to pre plan everything properly.

The woman behind kasf foundation told that Ahmed sir was still writing the drama while the shooting was ongoing and when nadeem baig came on board he made a lot of changes so Ahmed sir has to rewrite a lot of thing.

I guess nadeem baig is a very modern film maker and Ahmed sir is an old school writer who don't like to spoonfeed the audience. I guess that clashed a lot. Going by how well mehreen Jabbar handled ejls I guess she could have done a better job with KA. Even in ejls the leads were not the only central focus of the story but they had proper growth and screentime even with just 18 episodes.

We started talking about KA again and six Sigma posted a salman Aaliya scene saying they are not over Salman-aaliya 😆
