The plot might have been already sold but it takes time to get all the paper works done for the company to pay her and she didn't know if she will get the money before her taaya arrives but she finally got it. The main problem is they didn't show how much time has passed in the drama. We don't know for how many weeks or months samiya has been married or Aaliya worked for asfar or salman worked for shehrish. This problem is there in literally all pak dramas.

Also I still don't know why they showed a scene of Aaliya applying for loan. I guess just to show a forced asfar-aaliya scene like always. That loan scene made everything confusing. Majority thought she got the money because asfar uspe meherbaan hue and approved the loan and she got the money. In one scene they showed Aaliya telling samiya that she was able to pay everyone because of asfar and in the next she got offended and angry at salman for stating the same. This 2% commision was clear only when the writer and director told it on their iv. The makers completely messed up the love triangle and totally sidelined the lead pair for the second lead. That's were the entire drama went downhill.

I still love the drama but it had a lot of potential to be way better. They managed to get perfect casting. Everyone fit the part and everyone acted good. Some of the scenes are so heart touching that even when I watch it again its as beautiful as I have seen it for the first time.I don't have problem with any of the other stories and the drama had great dialogues and all of salman and Aaliya scenes were so well written and well acted. Bilal and sajal looked so organic and natural together.

In response to your first paragraph: It's still not unclear, tbh. If they are creating a lot of fuss for one huge issue for so long and it resolves in a matter of an episode without actually showing anything, it is not good storytelling and direction, I believe.

Also, it's not like I hated the drama. It had its moments, and like you said, there was a lot of potential, but unfortunately, the writer and director couldn't capitalize on that. The ending, to put it mildly, was very underwhelming.

And, yes, we definitely need to get rid of long ass recaps in the last episodes.

I was so bored at work and didn't want to write an article I was supposed to, I ended up coming here and wrote a long ass essay on Kuch Ankahi here. lol

The thing is that I hardly watch anything on TV these days (apart from Bandish 2 😆). But, will try to be more active here!

If you like slice of life dramas with esemble cast give ek jhooti love story a try. It managed the essemble cast pretty well and that within 20 episodes.

I think a writter like Mohammed Ahmed needs more offbeat director like kasif nisar than a commerical director like nadeem baig. More than the writing I think the direction is the problem. Every characters were grey and flawed in their own ways. I feel the love triangle is fully on nadeem esp the entire asfar story. The kasf foundation lady said Nadeem made changes in the story when he came on board. The entire asfar story looks so disconnected from the rest of the flow of the drama.

I can vouch for Ek jhooti love story - great drama! and a great example for a ensemble-cast done well.

Omg Usman? Do my eyes deceive me? Great to see you!

I just logged in right now after a long, long time too. I have nothing to contribute to this discussion lol. I haven't been watching Pakistani dramas these days either but Kuch Ankahi was one that I had planned on. I just got too busy and lazy to do so.

If you must watch something with your wife then Kabli Pulao is my recommendation. This is the first drama I have tuned into after Parizaad so it's been a while and I definitely picked a great show

No, Jinnzada as of now. I can only manage one show at one time. lol. Have been trying to watch Made in Heaven season 2. Haven't been able to complete 2 episodes as of yet in last 5 days. lol

As for Bandish 2, same old stuff. Jealous rishtaydaar, kaala jaado, clueless ghar walay, fearful wife who experiences supernatural stuff, dismissive husband. And of course, the mandatory rich boss falling for middle-class ghar ki larki. Still, it's a guilty pleasure. lol

Even Hasseeb Hassan is a capable director who could've done justice to this story.

I'd definitely check out ek jhooti love story. Where can I watch it tho since Zee5 is not available here?

Hey, Umz!!!

Long time! How have you been?

Good to see you, too.

Kuch Ankahi had a lot going on in its favor. Exciting cast, writer, and director. Yet, it didn't deliver, unfortunately.

As for Kabli Pulao, my wife was nagging me to watch it with her a few days ago. But I couldn't manage time so, she started watching it alone when I'm at work. Will try and catch up now!
