☝️Have eaten ripe banana pakoras..banana cubes dipped in batter n fried. Tastes good.

Only put off is the first time frying..it isn't needed

I would. Its clearly a plantain. They call both plantains and bananas, bananas in most of India. Plantain is starchy with a mild sweetness that goes well in savory food.

It's the frying that was baller-looking with oil to brim.

I think it is plantain. Plantain has a thicker skin that can be harder to peel. In a lot of Caribbean and Latin American cooking the plantain is blanched in boiling water to par-cook and make it easy to peel. This is the first time I am seeing frying to prepare the plantain.
