Q for those who saw RARKPK?
WTF is Ranveer's persona in the movie? One forum member calls him an alpha. Another forum member says he appropriates queer culture.
These two directly conflict with each other. Which is it?
Watch the movie to decide 😆

Hahahahaha can imagine.
But you did the right thing.
Now I will save what I can save - and wait for your next thread and eat what I have left over. lol
I did not say that. I have clarified twice in this thread.
I saw many sexual minorities kind of divided on RS and a lot of them saying that he, Ayushman, appropriate their aesthetic to push own career or brand and earn brownie points or appear to be woke or allies.
I have no issues with RS or other actors not acting like traditional, patriarchal notions of cis het masculinity.
Rather I am happy that nowadays we do not have homophobic jokes like Kantaben jokes in KHNH or using characters dressed in women's clothes as comic relief or for cheap jokes like Baazi, Khel Khel Mein, Laawaris type yesteryear films showed.
Old films were atrocious in this sense. For eg that caricature of Juhi's fiance in Hum Hain Rahi Pyar ke and Juhi hating him because he is classical dancer or keeps moving his neck.
And similar caricatures in Raja Hindustani and Dulhe Raja.
Today's films and shows have improved and changed portrayal.
But I feel concern of LGBTQIA communities is not wrong if their own lot lacks representation and cis het ones just dress a certain way and get all brownie points for creating some revolution.
It is same as concern that racial minorities have about White allies, Dalits have about UC allies or feminists have about cis het male allies.
I remember some Ambedkarites were extremely unhappy about Aarakshan some years ago and hated a son of nawab like Saif chosen to play a character from 'reserved category'. They felt it was not proper representation and not fair to show UC elite actors acting as either Dalits themselves or as saviour of 'reserved category' students as Amitabh did in that film.
Often the privileged majority background person ends up hogging all limelight and space, even more than actual persons of other group. And some of them (NOT Ranveer in this case) also act holier than thou and act as if they did a favour by supporting some cause or breaking norms. For eg there are many so called male feminists who want extra brownie points and now want to mansplain feminism to women themselves. Or there are many so called liberals posing as allies of minorities but acting like saviour or holier than thou and speak over minorities or dictate minorities how to behave (like Shashi Tharoor got panned for his article asking Muslims to tone down religiosity and its public display and stop using Islamic slogans in anti CAA, NRC protests).
So, in this sense, I can sort of understand concerns of sexual minorities if a section among them is not welcoming of work of Akshay, Bhumi, Rajkumar, RS, Ayushman, Sushmita etc.
Ranveer in particular has NEVER played normal or positive characters from sexual minority groups. Not like he did an Aligarh or Badhai Do. He has played a bisexual only once and that too a villain which caricatures Muslims in every single way and repeats all tropes about 'evil Muslim invader who lacks ethics, is pervert, ruthless, violent, eats meat, has high sex drive' etc.
His criticism or questioning his antics or roles are not entirely out of place. His Padmavat act got lot of flak from Muslims and others for Islamophobic stereotypes being reaffirmed. Plenty of articles and blogs from that time.
He is subject of debates in LGTBQIA groups as well. Half of them support him. Others think he caricatures them or appropriates their aesthetic and culture for attention and PR.
Cis het ones hate him anyway be it for his dressing or his public display of support for his wife. IDGAF what cis het ones say because their frustration is a given. RS type men are disliked by patriarchal orthodoxy.
If that was so I would be anti LGBTQIA as most boomers are.
Your comeback still stands as invalid and lame.
Look at debate RS incited on Instagram. You are gonna call them boomers? Those are pages which are run by progressive youth or have that demographic as followers.
They are far from boomers or boomer type mindset.

My post earlier in this thread was very broad. Can you please quote me and try to address specific points? Without proper context, I am very lost on what is being addressed and discussed, and don't think I can engage in proper dialogue.
Like WTH did you not say? I don't think I attributed any saying to you in my previous responses. 😕
