Arpita, now I have two conflicting responses to the above chapter.

One, Arnav was just drunk, like he believed, tried to refuse to lunatics advances then succumbed and had S*x with her, like he says he went all the way, even knew it was not Khushi under him. In that case it is infidelity.

He is sorry, wants her back, loves her but that will not take away that he cheated.

Now, the second point is which I still strongly feel happened, I don’t believe he was just drunk, I believe he was dr*gged, he has some hazy memories which is not letting him believe he was tricked plus their investigation so far has not been fruitful and though he says it but I believe he actually did not go all the way. Because even if he did it was rape. That’s why still believe boxers helped.

Now, Khushi has told him about the photographs and he has strong doubts, hopefully he will be able to dig the entire truth out of the lunatics mouth.

Khushi in her hurt has given him a reality check, whatever he did to her over the years, he needed to know that and that too from Khushi herself. I am really happy this time she did not mince her words for his sake. She even told him about her being callled gawaar or infertile. Arnav may be the righteous man but he needed to know that in doing that he had taken Khushi for granted where she should always have been at the top of his priority list.

God she is also hurt by Aman, it’s like every relationship she loved, she is hurt by them all. From our to everything became your for her.

My god! When she said what did you ask after you knew about she knowing about divorce, I wanted to slap Arnav ( here I know he was also going through a lot at that time but it does not take away her pain).

I cried a lot for Khushi and she may forgive him for lunatic once she knows the entire truth but it does not take away that she was wronged and it was Arnav who did it.

This feeling that Arnav might have had a child with someone else and he in his righteousness was being there for her even if she comes to know about all the lies Lunatic has woven, how will it go away.

This Arnav couldn’t even tell her that he was trying to protect her from Lunatics PR team, save her and his family by taking care of the financials but instead tells her he was there because he felt responsible for lunatic.

If he was there with lunatic because of sense of responsibility then what forgiveness is he even seeking. He thinks if he says I was only protecting you with no valid explanation she will believe him.I am very confused now.

Arnav now has to realise Khushi is way past that stage where she would understand his unspoken words, he needs to talk and be articulate at least for once.

Khushi should be made to feel that she is important and if his guilt can not let him do that then she is better off without him.

When you read about Arnav’s POV you want to forgive him and when about Khushi you can’t. Arnav has a long path to redemption but till lunatic chapter is solved the last one year mistakes redemption can not even start.

Now who is this VD? I am sure he is going to be potential love interest of Khushi who will help Khushi realise whether she can fall again in love or not. Like they did not already have a lunatic and Shyam in their life now this VD also had to come.

If after so much hurt and pain Khushi still can be moved by Arnav’s tears then I don’t think she can love another. But may be this person can help her gain her confidence back.

( it reminded me of Sridevi of English vinglish and that French chef case🙈)

Also, I hope when this VD comes and Arnav in his self pity mode let’s her go, then this time khushi will go, she will not stay even if it’s not VD that she is moving on to because it really hurt her that he was ready to let her go if it was someone else and not Shyam.

Things will not go the way we envision most of the times. Arnav can't even put a single word in without making Khushi question herself. That is how messed up the whole thing is. He better shut up now.

Well, the way Khushi found the photos she will find the extent of Arnav's guilt one day. Arnav was an year and a drunken mistake too late. It looks like Arnav will be another couple of years and a VD too late as well.

I am glad he connected the dots for the pictures.

The good thing is Khushi could convey what was bothering her and what bothered her the most without saying too much.

I don't think Arnav will get a chance any time soon to even say what bothered him and talk about the demons he was fighting all these years.

Words cannot express your ability to write such brilliance. Admired Khushi’s distinctive ability to express herself. Both are conflicted and our heart aches for both but a bit more for Khushi.
Every sentence you write has so much effect on us- the readers.

Khushi loved or still loves Arnav wholeheartedly. I personally believe one needs to love oneself before they are able to love someone. Right now I am not sure about either one of them.

Well Sashi deserve that French man, Who appreciate her, love her for who she is not that misogynist pig of a husband. I got very mad at that part of English vinglish.

I did not even think about it even though in initial chapters I only cried for her. God this would’ve killed her.

VD definitely is a love interest. The last line was

Rhea’s smile widened as she spoke “Then let’s pray this is the year you find your happiness (Khushi)”

Yes. This thing. That her instinctive response was to console him 💔. I’m so glad Arnav noticed this and I’m also super glad Khushi’s mind took her over and stopped her.

somehow after this chapter, my hopes that Arnav and Khushi will end up together has gone down by 50%. Right when I thought we were at a turn from where things will turn rosy…

Arpita, heartbreaking! But, here again I read it twice and sat and thought about it before commenting.

I realize even though I ache for Khushi I am not as emotional as I could be. And it’s because I realize I had already felt the heartbreak that Khushi expressed. I had already felt all those emotions that Khushi was expressing. I saw all that Arnav had done already and felt the pain that Khushi would have felt and in fact did feel. I think that is why I was so hard on him. Swati also was very hard on him. The pain that you portrayed Khushi feeling in listening to Arnav I had already felt in earlier chapters like Khushi would feel. Does that make sense?

I am still mad at Arnav. And the things I wrote about him feeling guilt, taking her for granted are still true. I don’t think I ever called him selfish but definitely egotistical and entitled. Someone else I believe did call him selfish. His wants, his needs took precedence over Khushi’s. And he justified it by his work, her being too traditional, not willing to involve herself in the way he wanted to live.

Khushi isn’t without fault because she was willing to let him take her for granted. She never passionately vocalized what she wanted or needed. Now, the heartbeak of being Gawar and the sense of betrayal she felt for giving up everything for him guts her even more.

We’ll see in the end the truth about sleeping with Lavenya but I still can’t absolve him of guilt. In my mind even a depressed Arnav behaved in a fashion that he acknowledges he let his demons take over. Wow! Now he is coming out of his depression fast. He realizes the damage he has inflicted because he ran away from conflict and refused to face his demons. He acknowledges that he always does that and it won’t work anymore. Good start.

We’ll see who VD is. I have always thought that Khushi would be happy with a compassionate, well sorted guy like a doctor, or professor that shared her same dedication to helping others. Someone who is non traditional enough to not be bothered by her being a divorcee, appreciates her selflessness, and will not take advantage of her but value her as an equal in a marriage. A non brooding, extroverted NRI might be just the ticket.
