If you ask me, hyper patriarchal societies are a hotbed for such insecurities and rivalries for control and attention of the male resource.

They keep women dependent on men first asking them to sacrifice and adjust or compromise. Later same women become too attached and possessive of their son or brother or grandson or husband and become insecure.

Or fear what if man leaves them for someone else.

It is important for women to have some work or life outside home IMO. If one revolves around only kids or husband all life and is available on demand for them 24/7, has no life beyond them, then she will get insecure after husband dies or son is busy with wife and kids.

Too many families ruined by this mamma's boy, raja beta, raja bhaiya syndrome and women being kept confined to home and not encouraged to study or work or have a circle beyond family.

Men mostly do not know how to balance and either take side of mom or wife or leave both to their devices and go about their work and think women do drama.

I agree about fear part in your post. Especially fears and loss of control and feeling irrelevant in old age.

She sounded problematic even 10 years ago and in a TV show she said RK was too innocent and got used by girls and claimed today's girls do not care.

She is a typical possessive desi Punjabi mom who thinks girls of today are too tez and her son is innocent.

The way she and Riddhima kept hovering around Ranbir and his GFs it was evident they and Rishi have had final veto over RK's relations and which girl he should settle with and they are controlling and possessive of his time and attention.

I think, in day-to-day life, only men that can positively deal with the feminine part in themselves are able to value the positively powerful traits a woman can display.

The last movie I remember to have loved a female and a male character showing female power and male understanding, was Darlings (the mother = Shefali Shah and Kasim = Rajesh Sharma).

Going strictly by the post, it seems Neetu is distressed/ desolate. She is probably feeling lonely as her son, bahu and kid have reportedly shifted out. Her daughter lives in Delhi. Her husband passed away. So no close member of family.

By saying that buried those who kept family together may mean that Rishi wat the one kept the family together by his jovial nature. But since he is no more, she is unable to hold on to her family. Neetu may want to change her behavior/ conduct.

Currently very sad state to be in.

Maybe she should talk to Jaya Bachchan? And get some tips from her. She managed to lockdown super ambitious Aishwarya and even keep her son within reach.

after rishi passed away neethu kapoors face look sad always. based on magazine stories, they may have had issues earlier but towards the end they were compatible and she miss him really now.

But I heard the opposite. People saying she looks happier now than she did while she was with Rishi.
