I have a slightly contrary opinion to several on this forum for Ayesha-Dhruv.

They were very, very good school friends, and it was even hinted that they'd spend hours talking on the phone, and he would cover for her on many occasions.

That may or may not have translated into "love", but there was certainly an easy to maintain companionship (from school to medical), and that's often enough for marriage tbh.

I suspect Dhruv probably had fledgling feelings for her (although perhaps not as strong as hers for him) and because of the whole history between him and his brother, chose to back out in Jai's favour. And that's why he had no problems whatsoever giving out that stupid promise at the beginning of the show.

Which also probably explains why he stays so guarded and closes his face off when she is around- he's (rightfully) drawn boundaries for their relationship so that everyone is happy.

The marriage to Jai is essentially Ayesha's fault though- the whole "I want dard ka rishta but will also not cross my limits because I know I'm the DIL" is a bit of baloney, tbh.

But it's also shown that Ayesha takes pretty good care for the family and isn't negligent in any of her duties as a DIL. This was also one of the things that attracted Dhruv to Tara- T choosing to keep Ayesha's truth in the passport episode and curing/convincing his mother to eat played big roles.

In an alternate universe (where Jai didn't exist or had a better equation with Dhruv), one could easily see D-A happening, and it would be a pretty happy marriage IMO.

Just my $0.02 though 😊

I got a very good explanation for it and it cleared a lot of things. It’s fun to ponder at times otherwise what’s the point, lol

Abhi muje bhi age gap janna hai

Dhruv is definitely 28-/9 if not older
But in old times girls get married younger so probably 18-19

I am guessing about 10 years age gap

I agree with this explanation and I had thought of this in the beginning too as he did say that he is denying a lot of things himself. I don’t think it was deep love that he feels now for Tara as if he had he would have married her. He knew her for a long time and was at some point attracted to her but it can’t be that deep as he must have known Jay loves her too.

With Tara from day one he found her attractive and a kinship and as time passed it was her love for her brother and then it became more. Ayesha made the biggest mistake by marrying Jay she should have pursued Dhruv and probably without Tara in picture who knows of possibility. She fulfilled her duties but she was emotionally not loyal and that matters. It wasn’t fair to anyone. When Dhruv apologised to her he admitted that he had no deep knowledge of love and advised her to move on. I hope she does as her getting divorced is the best decision I think. No point in being with someone you aren’t emotionally involved with. That’s a miserable life and situation so I think divorce is best.

I do think that Dhruv is a caring guy and he may have cared for her. I don’t know openly male female friendship is acceptable in Indian culture specially conservative people but I have some extremely close male friends without attraction so I can understand Dhruvs point.

His reason for denying Ayesha was not to upset family but he took stand for Tara when apart from grandparents no one was happy or even wanted her around. She was nothing to him and he could have found a shelter or women’s refuge for her but kept her around. I guess for story purposes it makes sense too.

Btw really loved hearing your POV it was same as mine 😊

That’s a possibility too as in those days girls were married off early. He was a toddler when uncle/dad ran away so say maybe 3 or so and maybe putting ITV blooper we can say a 10 year gap makes sense.

I kinda hope it's somewhere like 8ish years or less.

Surgery is Masters degree and he's quite fresh at it so (Ayesha ke papa ne bhi bola tha, you've recently joined in) toh I think Dhruv is 27-28. At 23-24 you've completed masters. So 3-4 years of experience is fine.

Tara maybe bordering twenties. But then the timeline of her mother doesn't match 😆

I had thought that but he is a neurosurgeon and you need internship in surgery and seven years of residency and then an invite to the department. Although this is in Canada as my brother is a neurosurgeon. In India you can get to perform surgery after Masters? That’s amazing.

So I guess we all can confidently state that he is over 26+ and she well here fluctuates between 18-23, right?

Wonder king had conjugal rights when he banished the queen? Then maybe the timeline can be matched 😂😂

This is so confusing. If Tara is born before time travel that means she is atleast 25 . And Dhruv is about 28 .

But in that era , girls were married around 18-19 or less , but Tara is not .

And as Dhruv was toddler when maharani time travelled then she should know about Dhruv , (as it was mentioned that she was missing for a considerable time ) she was with Ravi's family , or atleast remember his name , that Ravi's nephew was Dhruv.Or she had forgotten about all this.

And if Dhruv was born after time travel then he is younger than Tara but then how he is a neurosurgeon (as mentioned above) .

Or may be , Tara is born during the Rajdand time . King can do anything

So, end result is also confusion for me . Mujhe soch na hi nahi h😭😭
