Also afair or not— he has been in contact with lavanya till divorce and she knows about divorce— whatever the readon is. I also don’t see any guilt in his thoughts ( so far)for sleeping With lavanya. I don’t get it.

Therefore I mentioned in my very first comment that I don’t understand this Arnav because his actions don’t match with the character which has been portrayed in general. It does not sit with just flawed protagonist. So far his recent behaviour is downright disgusting and indigestible

Agreed.. Cheating can never be justified..and Khushi will never be able to trust Arnav again..it's difficult..

His behavior was deplorable. There is no doubt about that. But there was a major shift after he read her letter. He had begun to doubt her love for him, thinking she was miserable with him. He thought she will stay in the marriage out of duty even if she was not happy. That was her value system and he knew it.

The letter threw him into a spiral. Now he is raked with guilt and pain. He knows he destroyed something precious that may never be recovered. But his words came across as bullshit and Khushi called him out on it.

The letter caused one shift. The revelation that she knew about Lavanya is another shift.

Where they go from here, we will have to wait and see.

I still feel the first major shift was when he decided he was done with the marriage after baby discussions went south (Ch 3 - Arnav's thoughts in Dec 2015 -> Whatever little contact they had in the last year or so had been due to Khushi’s persistence to make this work between them. Arnav was done with this marriage long back, but it seemed like Khushi was finally done with it too.) Clearly he also offered to have baby half heartedly but didn't work.

Khushi's unconditional love, loyalty were never in question. It's all Arnav's assumption and perception to suit his agenda.. Because Arnav himself was angry, didn't want to talk it out and fix things with Khushi; he became distant, unhappy, and miserable. He alone decided that Khushi too is unhappy, they have drifted apart / fallen out of love and divorce is the only way to go without asking or confirming with her. He was so convinced that counseling back then never came to his mind. He assumed she will never divorce due to her value system & fight which is true, but he didn't realize she wanted to make marriage work by discussing, fighting it out, being part of each other's world and mainly restore the world they had created for themselves in last 9+ years and were so happy in it. He didn't realize she wanted him the most. Basically it feels like he never knew his wife the way she knew / read him effortlessly.

Second shift caused when Arnav found solution outside marriage with Lavanya and this is where I feel he knowingly involved in adultry to earn his freedom / divorce... Where as Khushi wanted to fix things between them but was too late.

Third shift occured when Khushi easily accepted divorce, moved back to her native and completely disconnected with Arnav leaving him restless and sleepless; making him realize her value and position in his life.

The letter caused next shift; Arnav facing reality, how he annihilated their marriage to the point of no return pretty much. Arnav needed the letter and facts from Payal to understand the depth of his own wife's love, with whom he is married for last 10 years! He is right when he acknoledged of all the people he did not deserve Khushi and her love, he truly doesn't.

Khushi knowing his affair is the latest shift and we are waiting with bated breath.

I haven’t read the full chapter, but I think Ashvini and I both had doubts whether he was drugged.

I have so much more to say, but let me finish reading the chapter and then come back.

And Lavanya played the pregnancy card which was definitely a lie, Puja you were right this pushed him, but I am sure Lavanya lied.

Thanks for asking this question. I think i never explained the reason for it.

1. This was the actual time when I started penning down this story and plot. I did develop the whole plot but wrote only a couple of chapters. I only posted them after 7 years.

2. While posting, I did not want to change the timeline because a lot of the professional settings like arrival of blogs or emergence of food delivery industry would not make sense otherwise :)

3. The story will dive into future years so we will ultimately arrive at present. :)

How do we know she was wrong? May be that was the grief she was talking? an abortion?

I said about the pregnancy in the most casual way, who knew arpita would literally take that seriously.
