I am still watching it and beechme I almost gave up but hung on to it.
As you say its still watchable and I tried watching that Vanshaj show which made me appreciate this show more.
The good thing is they did not make Viaan a Devdas in love and after making Katha stagnant for the longest time, its good to see this phase in their relationship were she is opening up more and more. You see that growing level of comfort and now its Katha who is trying to get out of her mould and initiate things.
LOL that Vanshaj show has crap actors and a very stale interpretation of Mahabharat....I couldn't sit through more than 2 minutes of it....very campy and put on.
Katha toh I was also about to give up on in between but it definitely picked up with the conference wala track and Katha's transitioning feelings. Initially I was skeptical given how much they built everything based on her perception changing on viewing him as a good father and getting "permission" from the ghost of her late husband to finally give herself a chance....lol....but they did a good job showing her softening up in little gestures and allowing herself to go with the flow.
Katha has really opened up and how.
Yeah she has really opened up now because she has stopped holding herself back from feeling what comes naturally to her. She has opened herself up to accepting that affection she feels for Viaan and its growing day by day....LOL and yes Viaan's surprised reactions to her being the one to initiate things like going for a walk with him, trying to prolong their chats/time spent together, asking him for a dance....I like how they've approached him noticing everything and being happy to see her opening up to him but at the same time still trying to be wary and stepping back anytime he feels she may think he's being too forward....lol
It's an interesting place they both are aware of what he feels for her, so there really isn't any need for a formal confession. She has just decided that she will now reciprocate at her own pace and he is also just being himself as usual....not pushing her for anything, just basking in her company - jitna bhi jaise bhi mile. Even that whole Korean clients wala bit when she asks him ki aap sambhaal lena since mujhe Korean nahin aati and just these little bits where he feels so touched with how she's showing her trust in him, not holding on so tightly to her control anymore. Then later on at the conference, the way he was so stressed about her even coming to his room to talk about the PPT and she finally made him relax by saying ki if you keep being awkward like this toh main bhi comfortable nahin ho paungi....basically getting him over his paranoia of their past ONS baggage without mentioning it directly.
Bit by bit they've finally shown Katha developing that complete trust in him cuz she's seen the level to which he's gone out of his way to avoid making her uncomfortable in any way - changing his room to one far away from her and always avoiding imposing his company on her....lol this reminds me, when Katha's feelings finally started changing and she was trying to figure out a way to get him to drop her home....lol kitna ghuma phiraa ke finally Viaan agreed and he couldn't believe his ears that Katha was ASKING him to drop her home😆....woh pura evening out with them talking over icecream, old Hindi film songs, the walk on Marine Drive....kaafi sweet scenes the.
I always wanted that topic to come up but I feel like makers have completely put it under the carpet.
Even though nowadays he drops her home every day and they have a good conversation aramse.
On a side note I enjoyed that Pyramid guy and those two random guys who knew Viaan in the conference.
LOL the whole conference track had many memorable scenes....haha Pyramid guy Anirudhh ji as usual became a catalyst for some good progress for KV....the way Katha's mama bear mode came out to defend Viaan in front of those Pyramid guys😆...she was taking personal offense to anyone calling Viaan boring😆.....all those scenes of KV building stuff together in the conference workshops....and that glass pieces wala design that Viaan built which totally felt like his personal Taj Mahal for Katha😆....she was soooo floored by that piece😆. Without Viaan even saying anything, it was like she felt his love for her in every gesture....even down to the little meals they were sharing and her passing on the olives in her salad to him😆. We saw a more impulsive and mischievous Katha in this conference and Viaan was also amazed seeing these sides of her as she bajaaoed that Aniruddh and pranked him too😆. Oh prank se yaad aaya, Viaan revealing that story of why Aniruddh hates him so much cuz he was the one to punch him and break his nose many years ago🤣. Uske baad woh stars/constellations dekhne wala scene of KV was quite nice too and I liked how they balanced that initial hesitation/awkwardness with Katha herself asking Viaan to come lie down next to her and look at the stars together. As you said, they have navigated that growing physical proximity nicely with a back and forth of hesitation and then Katha deliberately choosing to take steps closer to him.
Another bit I liked in the conference was the way Viaan gave her full credit for the Taj Mahal presentation and the way he kneeled to fix her shoe after she had tripped cuz of Aniruddh's shenanigans. The way they showed Katha's eyes in that scene watching him in a different light, the focus on the way she put her hand on his shoulder to accept his support....nicely directed. When they released the different promos/precaps of their dancing scenes, I thought cliched hoga but actual scenes were nicely executed with a balance of many factors.
Viaan is still so sweet in getting floored by the smallest of gestures from her....lol that last night of the conference, him getting so happy simply cuz she wanted to continue walking with him even after he offered to end the evening. Him stating simply that this has been the best evening of his life and Katha just smiling in response rather than shutting him down as usual....lol itne mein hi kitne khus.
And it's funny how they are handling these little bits like Viaan thinking she was going to hug him in the car and then getting awkward when he realized she's leaning to pick up her bag😆....the fact that they are able to laugh about it and downplay it makes it thoda hatke na?😆
Even this almost kiss which they were trying to dismiss, Viaan did try to ask Katha later in the office if she was upset cuz of that and I don't know what he was even trying to explain before Katha rushed to assure him it wasn't that😆....I guess I like that they still try to talk through these things rather than pretending nothing happened....dheere dheere hi karte hain but baat kar lete hain.
That reminds me, even the card scene was nice na? The way he was so hesitant to give it to her but she convinced him to share it and then the way he was so scared of her reaction to the poetry on it....but Katha just smiled and said she liked it😆. Uske baad him just simply smiling and savoring the fact that Katha is not shutting him down on anything anymore - not even a card made by a kid😆.
Yes, ab yeh Vanya angle se thoda sidetrack kar diya hai but even this track is managing to show Katha's protectiveness for Viaan....the way she asked him to put CCTVs in his office and him initially wondering if he's done something wrong but then his smile when he realizes Katha is doing this out of worry for HIM😆
Aage lagta hai koi accident dikhaane waale hain Viaan ka so maybe that will lead to Katha officially accepting her feelings for him.

Thanks for the review:) I did try watching the first episode but I did not like the actor playing Shiv but you saying its the same makers as RK makes me really want to watch it . So definitely give it another try. 👍🏼 It kind of made me miss the sets, designs and costume of RK, it was just such a stand out that I judged this show prematurely.😆

Haan give it a try if you are able to cuz I feel the show got better after the first couple of epis. Swastik waale have applied their creativity a lot in the costumes and looks of the characters😆
Also it's really funny as an RK viewer, you will recognize actors from RK playing different roles in this show. Us show ke Mahadev is Indradev in this series and his costume is 🤣.....then the Shukracharya from RK is playing Brahma in this😆. Shivji ko kaafi solid mascara and eyeliner bhi diya hai that you can notice in the close-up shots😆.....some heavy duty jewellery wala look for Shakti along with wavy/wild looking long hair.
The actor playing Shiv is actually good, man....initially I thought it will be hard for anyone to match up to Mohit Raina ka memorable impression as Mahadev but this guy is giving a different spin on it and still being able to depict the shades....waise bhi yeh daadhi waale Shivji hain is story mein😆
Oh and they've also added a more active role for the Asurs in this series by showing Asurs ki mom Diti in a lot of the plots as well.
Loved your post, it literally feels like you put in words every small detail and gestures that I liked while watching this track. It was really the simplicity , lack of drama and their ability to still mostly be able to steer away from cliche that made it refreshing to watch. Precaps for the most part were misleading and in a good way. 😆

I was put off by the track that seemed to going on the route of Katha judging Viaan on his ability to be a good father, but thankfully they did not go all the way in that direction. I was still ok with the ghost husband though.😆

The makers have found a good balance between Viaans first love and Katha reliving her life once again after putting it on hold for the longest time. Its kind of sweet to watch their bond grow over long drives, simple conversations, reliving their childhood memories enjoying icecreams😆 and their mutual love for old songs.

Word to this entire bit!! It really feels at this point both of them have accepted their feelings for each other without Katha confessing it directly. She no longer tells him to not have any hopes in terms of their relationship. Lol at them having an attached room and Viaan got it changed, poor guy. 😆 Lol and that PPT presentation was part 2 of that scene in the office where Katha keeps trying to show him something and he keeps running around in tha cabin. 😆 The only difference being Katha addressed the issue this time around:)

Now since you mentioned it, I realise the refreshing part was to see the mischievous and carefree side of Katha at the conference. She was on a roll, especially with Annirudh. 😆 It started with KV having dinner and he sauntering in with the special champagne and how Katha instead of feeling all awkward turned it around against Annirudh, it was so satisfying to watch. 😆 Lol the funny thing is Viaan was so calm and collected every time he came up to rile but Katha would just refuse to take it lying down. 😆 Viaan was just amused and inwardly happy to see Katha being so protective of him:) When he asks her to just touch the nose and see Annirudhs reaction , I was like its so lame but as you said when they revealed the backstory it was so amusing to connect the dots. 🤣. Those two colleagues of Viaan kept popping up randomly and kept passing comments on KV being a couple, but nothing really fazed Katha. 😆 Me too liked that constellation scene. They really bring out the best in each other and what really touches me is there are really no grand gestures but these little things that bring so much joy:)

I really tell you they mislead with precaps . 😆 I always keep wondering about things looking at those but they manage to make it better in the actual scenes. There is a lot of unsaid conversation that happens between KV, you see it in their eyes, its like they communicate they know what it means but they leave it unsaid!!

Its adorable to watch the happiness on his face and completely reflecting in his eyes, he really gets so taken aback in disbelief every single time she does this.

This scene was executed so cutely, I think it was in the precap and I was convinced that in the actual episode it will just end up with Katha not even noticing it. I absolutely did not expect that Katha realized what happened , smiles about it without getting awkward and Viaan gives a sheepish and embarassed look. 😆 It was like a 5 second scene but as you said the way they downplayed it does make it so hatke:)

I liked that they followed it up with a big reveal, so it made sense that Katha was completely shaken and worried for Viaan that the almost kiss was right out of her mind . But before that they did acknowledged it for a bit when Katha turned away from him and when he asks her if she needed water and the little moment when they look at each other and realise what almost happened. Lol

Katha has been really surprising me, I also feel taken aback like Viaan with her reactions. 😆 Jokes aside I do like the treatment of all these scenes and kudos for not making them cliche or over the top!!

I did liked todays episode and yesterdays too. There has been a shift in the intensity of feelings and the rawness came through today. Katha almost hugged him today and both were really trying hard to keep their feelings in control. There was a need to comfort and find comfort in each other but both of then held back!!

Aww Mahadevji is Indra here, why did he get demoted:( Now I remember it was make up for Shivji and Shakti ke hair and jewellery that turned me off pretty quickly. 🤣I was just not able to look past that, it was so jarring I could not concentrate on dialogues.🤣

I just caught up on yesterday's epi.....lol I thought they would do a cliched scene of Viaan ka accident and Katha realizing/confessing her feelings in panic....but I liked how they didn't resort to that. Mild accident hi tha and Viaan had only fainted but Katha ki emotions ka intensity still came through with the way she ran to him and started patting him all over to ensure that he is ok....again, makers steered clear of the cliche of doing a hug there😆. Guess they are saving it for a big moment....lol but even without a hug, there was so much intensity in that bit when Katha ran over to him and started running her hands all over his arms and shoulders and Viaan had to calm her down ki he's ok.
Then later on the chai ki tapri wala scene mein Viaan looking so touched by Katha telling him she's always with him to support him through anything and he also wanted to reach out to hold her hand but then pulled it back....as you said, the feelings are increasing in intensity on both sides and getting harder for them to control....lol burst out karenge in a big emotional display at some point.
Yeh Vanya ka drama is definitely bringing KV closer....lol I guess for some time, there may be a rift between Viaan and Teji due to this too once he finds out the whole truth.

LOL to be fair, I'm not saying this new guy playing Shiv is outdoing Mohit Raina....I'm just saying he's doing it differently and the styling/conceptualization is very different from Mohit Raina waale Shiv so that's also helping set this version apart. This Shiv is shown as more passionate about his love for Shakti because the story starts itself with showing how they are eternal lovers just like RK started off showing RK in Golok.
At the same time, they do a good job of showing his serene and fatherly side as well.....I liked the whole Shiv Gann and Maarut wala chapter they showed of how he saved Diti's children and turned them into Shiv Gann.
They recently did a whole track on Samudra Manthan which was pretty well done too I felt....the passion of the whole team shows towards bringing different stories to life.....acting of the supporting cast is a mixed bag and not as good as RK waali cast but it's still a decent watch.
LOL@ Mahadev ka demotion to Indradev....haha I think Swastik waale love that actor and keep using him in their different shows😆....and I agree the costumes can feel too heavy at first glance but after a while, I liked the storytelling and dialogues/music enough to not care that much even if they've put different kind of makeup on this Shivji😆

Aur this girl still managed to bag another lead role despite her BPKH show on Star One flopping😆.....I guess isko Marathi background ki wajah se baar baar shows mil rahe hain.....lol....she's a decent actress but woh BPKH mein story got pretty cliched and uske baad she also couldn't salvage much.
