These people are dumb. They strangled their golden and even platinum/diamond goose and birthed a silver one. Could’ve made tons more money.

If they did not use flashbacks and ended the story 2 weeks ago on a high note and maintained the fast pace- not only would it have been remembered as a must watch despite its flaws- they would’ve also maintained interest for season 2.

season 2 could’ve been a several week prolonged epilogue where MM talk it out and we see glimpses of their new life. But more importantly we would see flashbacks with new scenes starting all the way from childhood. Imagine Murtasim confessing his love but this time in detail and having a backstory of childhood love for Meerab.we would watch their interactions and his secret admiration. It would explain everything we saw of him- bad mood when Meerab visited, jealous boyfriend like behavior at the birthday party, why he fell in love so immediately after marriage etc.

furthermore imagine if Murtasim admitted to the audience in a monologue that he had orchestrated a situation where he purposefully proposed Anwar and MB marry Meerab to someone while acting non-chalant as to who the groom would be all the while knowing very well MaBegum had Murtasim himself in mind. This could’ve come on the heels of Murtasim doing 2+2 and figuring out Meerab was Chacha’s daughter when he screams “meri Beti nahi..mera matlab khandan ki beti gai) after noticing Anwar’s constant interest and interference in Meerab’s life

I would’ve watched all of that with great interest
