Hi Ari,
Some great insights in the comment. Arnav is clearly freaking out about babies and yes, his response is not normal 😊.
The important point is, prior to this i have always mentioned Arnav's anger. He had always gotten angry about the topic. The maximum he has said is that 'even thinking about a child makes him...' . that is all. Only after he agreed to have a baby, is when he had freaked out to this degree which did not go unnoticed by Khushi. You are right about his response being extreme though.
She was right in her deduction. he did not want this.
I have defended the young Arnav in a very detailed comment. I will defend my Khushi too now 😃
I think that is needed because i may have missed to get my point across in the story itself. A lot of things do not have detailed paragraphs, but only a subtle hint and one liners for readers to get the gist. i may have been wrong there.
So here is my analysis and thoughts behind the points you listed. Please bear with me because this is going to be long too. I hope I can answer some of your doubts. This is purely because I think I missed to get my point across :)
- The problems that you listed out in their relationship. About communication and running away. It is totally true and correct. The breakdown has happened. it is no longer smaller fights or disagreements. It is two people literally living away from each other in the same house. In any case, it is not a normal thing. But the truth is, the distance is also driving the weird behavior of Khushi and Arnav both. By no means have they acted like perfect humans and have made mistakes. But both of them have accepted already where they went wrong in the previous chapters.
- About Khushi stopping pills.
I am not sure how many of you missed it, but within the first 3-4 chapters i had listed out that Khushi had grown up with the taunts about not being able to bear babies because she has been thin and week all her life. As much as i want to talk about fat shaming in at least one of my fics, to have someone in family grow up with same taunts and insecurities about being too thin has made me a bit aware of the issue.
The episode had happened right after Arnav nearly ghosted her and she was terrified out of her mind about this. She says so herself. She mused that. That she had steered clear of the topic after their last discussion after which Arnav started keeping away for longer and longer time. Its her who thinks that the topic at this point had become a taboo for them. They are anyway not being normal.
She is ready to believe Arnav in an instant when he says he wants a kid, she wanted it that badly!!!!. Again we are forgetting her upbringing. She has been brought up with the belief that this is a woman's duty. There is a reason Khushi's background is what it is in this fic. This was pretty much the ONLY thing she has wanted for long and yet she was the one who refrained from talking about it when instead of fighting/discussing, Arnav started choosing to go away.
She still tried to talk in the car. Arnav was the one who shut the discussion down. He was the one who was lying, and Khushi had to deduce his true stance by his behavior. He wasn't being entirely truthful either. And she could have grabbed that loophole. After all he agreed. she could be a mother.
And in an ideal scenario, she would have pressed on and forced him to discuss, but his recent responses have been choosing to go away instead of talking. A husband gone for a week and not talking for the first time in 10 years is a big deal! prior to this, She repeatedly asked him to come back to the room and he kept denying. And all this while, she is also trying to soothe herself that it was a real possibility that she may never be a mother.
But maybe i should have written in more detail what Khushi's thought process was. Trying for a kid meant they were living together again. as i said in a previous comment, I don't think Arnav is shallow enough to still be closed off in his study or his room and then go to Khushi when it was time for sex. She was trying to get things normal (living properly together again) and maybe then speak to him about it. One day at a time. The pill was never a permanent plan. That was just her saving Arnav from a pregnancy that he so didn't want, and she was unable to talk to an estranged husband who wanted no discussion on the matter at all.
But Khushi agreed to you in the last chapter. It was a spectacularly rubbish plan that backfired in the worst way possible. and the reason had already been mentioned from Arnav's POV. Arnav was RELIEVED when Khushi did not get pregnant. It was his guilt then, about feeling good about this whole thing that drove him away.
Which is precisely when Payal told Arnav about the pills, he was guilty instead of being angry. he knew he was the one deceiving and Khushi had understood him. Just that he did not give her a chance to talk to him.
You are right. Ideally Khushi should have told him that she didn't want a kid this way. But ideally, she should also have a husband who is not constantly shutting her out. She refrained from the baby topic, and he still kept pulling away.
Also, I am no expert on the topic which is why i wont go there, but a woman desperately wanting to be a mother and being unable to do so has been proven to lead to great mental disorders as well as depression. It is not as easy to just get up and tell the husband that she doesn't want a kid because she definitely does want one.
And she does realize that finally and it could not have been easy for her by any means.
What you wanted Khushi to do (Reaching out to Arnav , being more involved in his world and telling him that he is more important that a kid) is exactly what she wrote in her letter.
The things went south in the last year and a half alone. She is his wife. Of course, she is going to fight for her desires for a time being before choosing Arnav again.
About Khushi Going to Lucknow so many times
Apart from Khusi's insecurity to stay away from Arnav's glamorous life, we have not yet adressed this issue :)
I hope i was able to get the point across. I am agreeing to your point here. Hiding about pills was a bad idea. Its just that the circumstances did not lead to a proper discussion. I am just making you understand Khushi's POV. She did not act out of selfishness.
You are right. had they acted perfectly, we would not have a fic to read 😃. The things that i wrote here are purely to make you understand Khushi's plea and POV which i believed was missed out :)
edit- I also wanted to wish you and your son all the luck in the world!! mothers truly are warriors. All my love to you and your little one. Thanks a lot for sharing!!! ❤️❤️
Thanks for your reply , I can understand Khushi's need of child I was also the same , my husband also didn't want children but he gave in . Lucky for me, but everyone is different, we don't know what happened in past . I am sure you have something under your sleeves. Ideally if Arnav kept shutting her out , ten years is a lot of time to hold his collar and make him talk or call quits. That's what i kept saying both kept running away. One cannot close eyes and think everything will become hunky dory.
Hey where are the stories you wrote before this ff, i only read two other !!!!!!
Pujakrishna, I have wanted to pull back from this story because my mind is going into overdrive. It is turning to heartbreaking ideas that I just can’t even voice. I hope the grief is as you say. Anything worse would make it impossible for there to be a redemption for Arnav which in my mind is almost impossible anyway. But then, I am not the loving Khushi.
Please God! Arpita, don’t give Khushi and us unredeemable heartbreak! Infidelity is too much as it is. I know time flies but in this case the weekend can’t come fast enough. I hope the update is at the beginning of the weekend and not late Sunday night.

agreed!!
regarding the old stories, i cringed on them so hard i took them down. back then, i was a teenager just rambling on about some very problematic characters. you're not missing anything good 😂
edit - 10 years point is a good one. i hope ff later answers when the timeline of the whole marriage clears :)
When a story gets to the readers' emotions, its a good thing. That's what the writer is shooting for. Whether we laugh, cry, hate, love, its all part of the process.
It really makes me wonder, things are not that simple, the photographs, the timing of sending them, even many other things(don’t want to say it right now) are not that simple. Something more sinister is going on here. Or it is simple and I have made it a conspiracy in my head.
It might be my brain going in the overthinking mode, but Arpita has a lot to tell about things and she had not even touched them yet.
Oh god I am going to have serious FOMO now.
Let’s keep our beliefs to ourselves!!! I don’t want to discuss or defend my points again . Let’s enjoy the story our own way. Just one point though I don’t think he was scared of babies or the delivery process. He really didn’t want kids and that he had to give in freaked him out and that created the stress which was the last thread.

I agree, we can respectfully differ in our views but the reality cannot hide. Arpita will show us the reality soon in next chapters to clear our assumptions or misassumptions.
Again I agree with you he did not want kids while she wanted. But he has double standards here too, he is happy when his sister or friends had kids, enjoys with the kids too but refuses to give one to his wife knowing she is dying to have one... Wouldn't it make her further insecure and doubt herself?
Our debate can be never ending, I have been begging to understand his thought process forever and we have to wait for next few chapters I guess.
There is however a difference between being in-love and being able to love. Love is a choice we make every day even when we don’t feel loved. True love is mature and understands that you can show a profound depth of love when you love the someone who seems unlovable. Since the story is about Resurgence or revival or coming back, it will be interesting to see if Khushi will be able to love again. Khushi was Arnav’s weekends and it seems Lavanya played her cards well as soon as she found a crack in their relationship. Arnav needs to explain, redeem and make us also understand how was he able to cheat on Khushi. Did he even regret his actions? How can he so easily talk about his divorce with Lavanya? He knows that Lavanya is no saint and has had numerous affairs.
I just can’t seem to stop thinking about this story. What a marvelous story telling even when it is making us depressed. We will always want Khushi to be cherished and valued and loved as she deserves to be loved.

Tashi, you are absolutely on a roll. Of course there will be conspiracy involved when stinking rich guy, his wife and a popular actress are involved.
Or it could be simple case of photographers stumbled upon them making out in a balcony, followed them after to get additional pics in restaurant, Shantivan wanting to expose a scandal first which earns the reporters huge money usually or blackmail the involved parties to earn the money.
Knowing Lavanya's background of vile behavior and her cunningly lethal PA Manali, they can easily hit below the belt like this...
Or someone is simply a well wisher of Khushi and informed her.. But the timing makes me doubt this or someone decided to gift her truth on her anniversay??
Also this debunks Arnav's assumption that only few people know about the affair.... Someone had been spying on him and Lavanya for sure.. I wish his scandal comes out in public and he has to apologize to people and his wife officially owing to his public status. That one think I like in western countries, public figures are expected to accept their mistakes and issue proper apology.
In any case, it makes Arnav looks the most idiot for an astute businessman, what was he really thinking? Or was he even thinking?
I am dreaded to find out in the end, Arnav is simply a weak man with needs making out with other woman in public place, falling for woman like Lavanya knowing her background with married men, low morals and nothing more in real life.. That being righteous, responsible, astute and brilliant businessman has all been a myth...
