Saw the movie today. Liked it.
Karthik and Kiara both have acted really well in the movie. The subject matter has also been dealt with in a mature manner.

I’m sorry but that’s an extremely problematic statement to make.
No matter what the situation is and what the trauma a woman is suffering from her recovery is her own alone. It cannot and should not be contingent upon her husband’s needs and wants.
That “Aur Kya Chahiya” is rather triggering actually.
Bruh, watch the movie before coming up with a conclusion
Her character is written quite badly
4.5 Cr Monday (63% Drop)
https://www.sacnilk.com/quicknews/Satyanarayan_Ki_Katha_2022_Box_Office_Collection_Day_5?hl=en
Comparable Drops
Tu Jhooti Main Makkar - 64%
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke - 61%
Jugg Jugg Jeeyo - 69%
If it holds like TJMM I think it can manage a 90 Cr finish which would be a solid result
Not me finally looking at the plot after reading the discussion here. What in the white knight is this plot 😆

That may very well be true. My issue was with saying if her husband supports her she should be able to move on. That’s not how recovery works.

I wasn't talking about moving on, that would take time but the least she could do was appreciate his support and understanding instead of always making it about herself. Just because she went through a tragedy, doesn't mean someone else's sorrows or hardships should be ignored. They could have worked together to overcome it. He was always there for her throughout. What I did not like is that they just ended the movie by showing her as a victim instead of exploring ways to help her overcome the trauma she went through. What are psychologists and psychiatrists for? What is mental therapy for?
I honestly felt bad for her but I did not like the way she was punishing herself and the man who loved her unconditionally over a jerk who ruined her life. It felt like she did not even want to move on.

Blaming yourself is very very common among rape and sexual assault victims. That’s because of decades and centuries of stigma that’s attached to rape and assault, not to mention society’s misogyny and toxic masculinity. And they usually don’t just snap out of it. Yes it would have been nice had she tried getting therapy for this, but again, a lot of victims suffer in silence because they feel they deserve it.
@bold, I haven’t seen the movie but yea I know he was there for her. He was there for her so much that apparently he sneaks into her house and her bedroom 🙄🙄🙄. Imagine how messed up you have to be in the head to write a story about victim of rape and then make your “hero” climb into a girl’s bedroom without her CONSENT 🤬🤬🤬. That’s just F***’ed up. From the little snippets I’ve read Sathu is also the one who tells everyone about her rape which is a big NO NO!! I don’t care that he’s her husband. That’s not your story or struggle to share with anyone else.
So yea sounds like his character isn’t some perfect angel either.

That's just how he was and I think that's also shown in the promo that he does things without thinking even though his intentions are never bad. He was desperate to get hitched.😆 He was dumb and innocent which was shown through such actions. It was his dad who gave him this suggestion to go to her and take care of her to win her heart, since she was sick. Then he was the one who saved her life. Had he not sneaked into her house like that, no one would have known that she was committing suicide and she would have died.
Also she never had a problem with him telling about her rape, in fact I felt that was the only thing she was thankful to him for. For telling everyone the truth because they had been blaming her for getting pregnant out of wedlock.😆 She told his parents herself about the rape, he didn't. He only went and told HER family about it because she didn't have the guts to face them.
And i don't think she really blamed herslf for the rape, her problem was that her family blamed her for it even though she understood it was not her fault. She even explained this to Sattu when he asked her why she hid the truth from her family, she said how would I explain to them what 'date rape' is. Just because I invited a guy to my room, just because I let him go to second base, how do I explain to my family that it doesn't mean he could go all the way without my consent?
