Every Superstition comes under OCD 😊. All the superstitions mentioned in this thread/any other superstitions come under OCD.. This is called "Magical thinking" in OCD.. Obsessed with a religion comes under OCD too. OCD is very common. Just saying for the information.😊
Thanks for the info. Although I feel magical thinking applies to excessive abuse of superstitions, where for instance someone is plagued with intrusive thoughts for not following through a superstition to the point they are not able to function normally or carry out daily life chores. Does it apply when someone goes along with a superstition where they are not fully convinced of its utility but still follow because of social/familial pressure?

@Red
If you have only those intrusive thoughts, they are called obsessions. If those thoughts leads to compulsions (repetitive behaviors), it comes under OCD.. Depending on how much it is affecting your daily life the degree of OCD is determined like Mild, Moderate or Severe.
@blue
No. if you follow those superstitions to avoid conflict with family /society it is not called "Magical thinking".
Mom se nazar utarwana when I'm not feeling well. (Self obsessed 😆?)
Obviously it must have happened because of someone's buri nazar and not because of my own lifestyle habits. 🤷♀️
Not eating something white before leaving the house. Take a sip of water before leaving.
Not cutting nails or washing hair on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Aur bhi hain yaad nhi aa rha. 😆
Seeing an owl during the day..there will be a death in the family.
It happened.So I will be terrified, if I see one again in my life.

Lmao.
To be fair, even though Harry is fictional, he did have his entire family die.. and eventually everyone he cares about dies (even poor Hedwig dies). So in some way it all links back to the owls he sees around his house ya know. You-know-who who? The masterminds were owls all this time
My favourite one has got to be about wearing yellow on thursdays. Totally harmless.
I see so many women around me wearing yellow on Thursdays.
Do you guys think women tend to be more superstitious than men?
