In real life, I have seen some people who took degrees after degrees (from long distance education) just to show society that I am multiple degree holder without doing any fruitful work in any of the field.

She is below average dancer , she has 0 capability to finish whatever she starts, better she focus on dragon Dimpy’s training the way she transformed kinjal. Waise I don't like AK's character either. Because he is not real. Also loving someone for 26 years (without spending time with them, he didn't know her at all, they never had any kind of relationship whatsoever) without reciprocation, and not able to form meaningful relationships with other women and constantly comparing Anupama to his mother is not not normal. I mean Anupama ko etna mahan, kind, hardworking, family centric, overachiever (lol) rakhte aur baki women ke character ko nahi girate to kaun bevkoof hota ki Anupama Mata ki etni qualities aur achievements ke bavjud un par dhyan deta? Koi bhi logical isaan yahi sochta ki jo kaam seedhe raste se ho sakta hai, uske liye etna tedha medha rasta kyo? I mean kisi character ki greatness dekhni ho to uske samne 4-5 great characters aur rakh do, uske bavjud wo shine kare to samjho ki haan.. wakai me wo great character hai. Anupama to chodo, ITV ka koi show aisa nahi hai. Kyonki waha main lead ko hero/heroine sabit karne ke liye dusro ko villain banana padta hai.

Is show me literally har aurat galat ho sakti (Baa to galti proof hain kyonki wo badi hain aur V ki maa hain) hai par Anupama galat nahi ho sakti.

Sabse bura haal to Maya ke character ka kiya hai. Pahle Human Trafficking victim ki life journey ka majak banaya, ab mental illness ka majak bana rahe hain. Kuch episodes me ye tak kaha Gaya ki "akeli aurat kisi bhi had tak ja sakti hai!" To single women ka character assassination karke women empowerment par show bana rahe hain!

Matlab... According to Anupma makers, women empowerment ke liye aapko 75 cheeze ek sath karni hain, abusers ko pyar karna hai, career ko timepass banana hai aur khud to aap immortal hain hi. Being economically independent gives you different level of confidence and to handle world and family

But you must understand in a country like india or asia anupama kind of life is reality for most women

Only 24% women are employed in india, rest 76% are not earning anything

Even educated women do not get job easily in a patrihial country like india or asia because first prefrence for a job is men not women

So the initial 6 months they showed in anupama is reality of many women in india and asia

Hey... You assumed that I don't know the reality? I belong to a very backward village in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, and in my family almost all women are half-educated, forget them to be economically independent. So, believe me what I am saying...

TV shows are not documentary.. they are not in anyway trying to be real in any sense. Warna bar bar accident wagairah nahi dikhate. Anupama me kya cheez hai jo real hai?

I admit that myself and many others here would be quite privileged and we can probably never comprehend the struggles you or many others in your position have to overcome. But I completely understand what you are trying to say about the show and what it means. It started out realistically and completely lost the plot by propagating the wrong messages. No self respecting women would ever be like Anupamaa, if given these many chances in life. In essence, the show is promoting regression in the garb of empowerment and the lead character is certainly no embodiment of a woman who beats the odds and rises in life. But do not assume only village or backward have this discrimination towards girls even very big indian metro city or even in USA etc this discrimination happens but in diff ways. One of my friend from USA born and brought up usa all life yet she says she feels she feels discriminated by family compared to boys at home. Even in USA no woman has become a President so far although its most modern and forward thinking society compared to asia or india. So discrimination on gender happens everywhere whether you are in village, metro city or USA city. But may be in lesser or diff ways in big cities

From roads to colleges to even office and in homes discrimination takes place in subtle ways. But of course its not as bad as anupama kind for sure. But in different ways than potrayed in ITV or movies.

Best way of discrimination in cities is like woman are expected to work 10 to 12 hours in office and do house work too almost 90% of it. While men be it husband or brothers or fathers come from office/college and watch TV, play, do home work etc most times. Whether in new york or mumbai girl is expected to cook and take care of house while that girl has also worked same as a man for 10 to 12 hours. Yet another 2 to 3 hours you expect her to cook, clean, wash vessels etc at home after office. While men just relax watching TV or playing on mobile or with kids.

You know serials like anupama promote this thought that woman must work in kitchen while men enjoy in hall. Kinjal goes to work than comes and cooks for family in kitchen while vanraj, samar and toshu just enjoy in living room. 90% time same happens in a house whether you are in Hyderabda or New York men finish work and relax in main hall with family and woman whether daughter or wife or sister will work 10 hours in office and come and work in kitchen too.

Meri problem Anupama, Teri Meri Doriyaan, Ghum hai kisi ke pyar mein... Jaise shows se isliye hai kyonki wo en sab mentality ko reinforce kar rahe hote hain! Aur baki characters jaise Barkha ko "Devar ke paise ke peeche bhagte", Maya ko "Sanity lose karte", Rakhi Dave ko "dusro ki taklif me maja lene" me reduce karke ekdam Caricature jaisa dikhaya... Tell me.. these are not problematic?

Anuj ki mahanata par aao... Instead ki wo Maya ko therapist aur Psychiatrist ke paas le jata, agar wo nahi manti to social workers ki help leta .. uski bajay uske saath rah kar, family functions attend karke aise show kar raha hai ki wo kitna mahan hai, kitna suffer kar Raha hai!
