Well why not? I do not think BW is bashed simply for existing. They have indeed been making crap.

I do not think Adipurush is being bashed for being made in BW. It is being bashed for indeed being crap and has led to more bashing for BW.

Earlier same Hindi industry has made films like Ram Rajya which was even watched by MK Gandhi (who otherwise abhorred cinema and called it a source of vulgarity), and it became such a rage that the actor who played Ram in it, Prem Adib, became worshipped by people in real life and people began touching his feet.

Same BW has made Jai Santoshi Ma which broke records without any big star and its song Main toh aarti utaro re Santoshi mata ki, is still used as a bhajan. It was such a rage that people took off shoes before entering theatres and treated depiction of Goddess onscreen as if Mata herself gave darshan to people on earth.

With such small budgets, no big stars, no marketing or VFX, BW has made hit films on cultural, religious, historical themes in past.

So why can they not make good stuff now?

They lack creativity, indian history is so rich but they dont know how to present it to youth. Here in US, indians are trying so hard to teach their kids indian dance and music while kids in india are learning hippop and break dancing. Just goes to show the priorities have changed. And its because movies keep showing western culture as a sign of weath and good life.

Because anything and everything which doesn't align with the rules of this kingdom, WILL SUFFER.

Do you not read news? SLB was slapped on the sets of padmavati. The name had to be changed. DP was threatened. Jodha Akbar would not be made today, heck even back then they had controversies.

Only if you align the right people like akki, rajamouli, Vivek agnihotri, anupam kher, you'd be allowed to make a anything based on Indian mythology and even promotion will be helped by them.

Also, artists do take efforts. Ranveer and PC learnt old school marathi (peshwai) for BM. Him and dp learnt swordfighting, horse riding. SLB team take efforts which is clear. Same for Gowarikar.

Making a movie is tough, making anything based on or around India mythology post 2014 is dangerous thing (unless you make it quietly and drop it on streaming).
