Murtasim is like that one childhood enemy who just irritates you coz he is breathing the same air. Combined with his main gaddi ka janasheen hu attitude she hated him.

Now she agreed to marriage but didn't know what to expect from it. Her first thought was he would expect physical relationship so she made that contract thing. She was just afraid of all the changes happening.

And the sudden attitude change after marriage from murtu left her confused. She didn't know how he changed but she never questions it as she is afraid of the answer. She is like out of sight out of mind type. So she doesn't want to believe his love bcoz then she too has to love him. In a sense she still believes bookish love but not when it is seen in reality. With others she doesn't have to think much as that is not her problem. But with murtasim it is her problem. So different ways of reaction.

And something about her abandonment issues also play a role here. Her parents loved her so much but all the love vanished. And now she don't know how to believe that love again.

And what did that achieve? Zero. He is telling you his deepest secrets. And somewhere you too felt it. But maryam was more important than her hubby. This right here is where murtu left all the fight. Coz he thinks it is unnecessary. She will never understand him. Or love him ever.

But honesty logically I agree with you. Because if I keep my bias and liking aside, it wasn't good. Because he agreed only because she wasn't talking to him and she was literally using his love and affection and leading him on and what not which is such a bad thing. She looked quite sneaky/cunning (I can't really think of an apt word to describe her so using this). Yes, later on MK does tell MB that he wouldn't let his sister face what he faced. But, Meerab shouldn't have to convince him to do that. As soon as he knew Maryam wasn't happy with the marriage she should have done something

After E31, relationship progression bigad di.

In E17-E18, MK wouldn't listen to Merub about Naila and panchayat business nor explain to her anything.

But in E21, he listened to Merub's advice in forgiveness and ended his feud with Malik.

And, in E25, he explained to Merub why Naila cannot go back and Merub listened to him.

This E17-E25 arc made it seem that they are getting better at communicating and listening to each other. That if one of them give a rational explanation, the other will get convinced and act accordingly.

This seemed like healthy, positive relationship growth.

I wish they had continued to build on this to show in Mariam's track too, where Merub's sound advice made MK realize that he needs to step up and be supportive of Mariam, and let go of his feudal blinders.

This would have made Merub's character look positive and also MK's, while also giving us healthy relationship progression - where the two of them can talk out things, come together as a team and execute a plan.

What we got was some rank nibba-nibbi BS which made Merub look cunning and a user and MK a doormat. It also went against the kind of relationship progression and improved communications we were being shown a couple of episodes ago.

I honestly felt E31 onwards, scenes were written as if the events of E20-E30 never took place, and the relationship looked as if it had regressed compared to what were being shown a couple of episodes prior.

I also think it is possible that after murtasim tear agreement during pregnancy track n then join and gave it back to her , she didn't keep it. I don't think there was any contract paper in that room after that. Maybe murtasim doesn't know n she tells him that she has thrown it away long back
