I guess the joke is on the people who call him hakla.....indirectly they are praising his acting...😆

People who use "Hakla" to mock someone aren't really in my list of people who should matter to anyone. It is a reflection of their skewed mindset

I respect your perception, obviously, it was not about the older movies but the natural way of acting of Dilip Kumar JI that one can feel the pain been transformed from the screen to one's inner being and not just been limited to the visual experiences.

If the grandeur and sets and all that glamorized & extended cineematic appeal that appeals the most to you then I guess why not, as they say different strokes for different folks.

Connecting like you, Tanya, describe with "that one can feel the pain been transformed from the screen to one's inner being and not just been limited to the visual experiences" is a quite personal experience...

So, what happens to you might not happen to another spectator.

You got more impressed/affected by Dilip Saab's performance, I got more impressed/affected by SRK's performance...Vive la différence!

Actually Sunny's forte is playing action roles, Hulk or He Man type roles. Characters of anguished man ready to fight for justice and raw expression of rage suit him best.

He is weakest in romance and family dramas and he admits from day one he was uncomfortable with romantic scenes and did not know how to touch heroine or hug or what expression to give during romantic scene. Dharam also mocked him for being bad at hugging and romance during shooting of Betaab.

Sunny did not suit Juhi in the film and looked older than her. Whereas SRK looked better with her being a younger hero and comparatively good at romantic scenes.

SRK was given the best songs in that film and a younger singer like Udit. His fantasies for Juhi became more popular than romantic scenes between Juhi and Sunny.

Yash Chopra also kept fantasies a tad cleaner and less cheap or explicit compared to what such obsessive, psychopath stalkers have in real life.

That made audience hate SRK a little less and sort of feel sympathy for him as some lover.

comparing the shehenshah of acting Dilip ji and the hamming SRK is way too unfair, as performers

and no it's not some personal experience, the whole India knows which class of actors Dilip ji belongs, if someone is ignorant of this fact then it does not make it just an individual's personal experience tbh.

Dilip Kumar was called Marilyn Brando of East for a reason.

Sunny is not that great an actor in any movie. I’m action movies too he’s just barely average.
