Glorification/butchering?

Read a lot of opinions here that other characters are being butchered to cover up Anupamaa's mistakes. And since her actions were not garnering sympathy, the trajectory of characters like Anuj is being ruined.

But the premise of this contention lies on the perceived opinions of viewers. Given the mainstream success of this show, I'm quite sure that majority of the viewers who are contributing maximum to the TRPs, know very well whatever Anupamaa has done and support her DESPITE the same because her depiction echoes what they think. Most of the viewer base that is actually crucial for them, remembers everything she did and doesn't find fault even when she errs like the instances of 15 day challenge or running to Shahs at the drop of a hat. She will keep getting sympathy and other characters will be criticised, whatever they might do.

It may be jarring to see her mouth certain regressive dialogues but the makers are depicting the mindset of people quite accurately when they show Anupamaa repeatedly going back to Shahs. They along with the channel are well aware that toxicity sells and that people want to watch the female lead crying, being tortured, sacrificing and the likes.

Yes, fluctuations in TRPs do lead to some changes, but the character of Anupamaa has had sustained popularity and never really changed. She is glorified even with whatever (few/many?) wrongs she has done and this may not be the primary objective behind tinkering the other characters.

There is nothing like glorification or butchering.

For running shows for infinite years makers bringing any random track. In one track a character is butchered in another one someone else's is Butchered.

After anupama's divorce living in shah house n anu's entry anupama was Butchered now in maya's track anuj got butchered.

Marriage , seperation, reunion, kidnapping, death n comeback n leap helps add multiple episodes to show.

Bhai jis kviewers anuj ko glorify karna hai woh waise hi karega chahe anuj kaharacter destroy ho na ho

Kya khuch viewers anuj ko glorify nahi kar Rahe Hain inspite of his mistake .

Kis character ka Glorification ho raha ya nahi yeh to viewers ki thinking pe depend karta hai

Koi character lakh sahi kaam kare but jub tuk viewers use khud praise nahi karega to kaha se glorification ho jaayega

Aur koi character lakh Bure kaam kare but agar viewers use praise karte rahega to kahan se destroy

So glorification and destroy of any character totally depends ki viewers ke nazar woh cheech Kitni galat hai sahi .

Mujhe Kaun galat hamesha aur Kaun sahi lagta who are u to judge me for this

Moral of the story is that toxicity sells on ITV and viewers who feel cheated do not long belong here…lesson learnt! No point cribbing when I voluntarily subscribed to the nonsense.

I think most people wont have a big issue if the makers admitted this, after all fictiional shows need suspension of belief, instead we have the makers, main lead and even media trying to project this show as some sort of example for women and really progressive for society

That is difficult for people to swallow

So what is the point being made? Is there butchering or not? My stance was that the change in trajectories of other characters are not done/needed for the purpose to glorify Anupamaa (whose thought never progressed nor will in the future).

If it's about such elements introduced to stretch the show by increased dramatic sequences, then yes I am in agreement. Maybe certain aspects of a message are lost in translation in an online conversation as opposed to in-person, and we may be saying variations of the same thing.

U better mind ur words Surabhi01. Everyone in this forum can see how blind devotee are u of RG & upmaaa... U can judge Anuj only. If u have mind, brain(little 1%🤣🤣), then start thinking rationally n bash ur fav upmaaa. But i know, u can never do that bcz blind people can't see the reality 🤣🤣
