I know NM is annoying but there are parts in this drama where she is advocating for women. When Nauraiz came in today and schooled everyone on how they treated Mariam proved that. He said he doesn’t blame her for anything and trusts her. You don’t see that a lot in Pak dramas. Even Waqas’ lecture was sending the same message. She also put so much emphasis on the importance of consent. Why would the same woman excuse MR? I think she was going to make it looked like that happened but it ends up being that it didn’t and that’s what she was talking about in that article. I just can’t still imagine that no one on the team would have thought that it would not have been problematic unless they weren’t going to give Murtasim and redemption arc. It doesn’t go with the rest of the show.

who's NM? the writer? honestly, i don't care about her nor do i know anything about her so idk if she's annoying or not. i'm speaking only about the drama and what's happening in the episodes. i believe that there was marital rape and it's obvious to me from the editing and now with the following episode. episode 46 ended with meerab slapping murtasim and spitting on him and he pushed her in anger and closed the door and said some dialogue about main tumhe dikhata/batata hun aukat or whateva (sorry, i don't remember the exact words but it was something along these lines). the promo showed a disheveled meerab sitting on the floor and crying. there was also the exchange with haya which was taken out of the episode where haya is telling her to leave forever and implying that it's because murtasim didn't respect her consent. people with the insider scoop who talked to people associated with the project also confirmed that it was marital rape that was written in the script and they shot for it as well. sari messy editing se clear hai k audience k backlash ki waja se last minute changes kiye gae hain. then we cut to episode 47 and we're supposed to believe that they had consensual sex after how angry they were at each other in that moment? it's not believable at all. the voice-over is that episode were not in sync with the actual scenes because they were shot to go with a different narrative. if it was consensual, neither of them would be crying and feeling sad about it to such an extent. we were shown that murtasim has some kind of feelings for meerab (i won't get into it being lust or love), and meerab was starting to have some feelings for him as well, despite all of her anger and frustration with him. when it's consensual and they both have feelings for each other, they wouldn't be reacting the way they did. i can make an attempt to understand some shock or surprise but the fact that they both feel a sense of betrayal and are crying points to something else. how am i supposed to believe that meerab had consensual sex with him right after slapping him and spitting on him and after he pushed her? they made it seem like meerab just couldn't stop herself and murtasim went along with it too - is sab scenes mein aisa kya hua that meerab felt so damn turned on that she couldn't help but sleep with him? there was no love to be seen in sight, wahan intimacy kahan se aye gi? murtasim clearly forced himself on her and broke her trust, which is why he felt angry enough to self-harm and say in his voiceover that she thought of him as his protector but he didn't stop himself. meerab feeling betrayed and punishing herself and leaving forever after consensual sex??? yeh kahan se logical hai AND in logon ko itna shadeed consummate karna tha apni shadi ko that they didn't even care that maryam was getting married? usko bye bhi nahi kaha uski ruksakti mein? 😆

i just watched today's episode and it only served to solidify this narrative. meerab doesn't go back home in karachi because she's terrified of her parents sending her back to murtasim. she wouldn't be terrified of going back home had it been consensual sex. none of it adds up. for me, none of it is about the writer. idc what her intentions were or how smart or stupid she is. i'm talking solely about what they showed in the drama and everything points to martial rape.

watched today's episode. yeh bhi bakwas, kafi time waste karne wali episode thi. bas AaaaAaaaAaaa and flashbacks hi thay 😆 only good thing about it was nourez taking a stand for maryam. he's the only nice guy in the drama. at least we have one.
