Watched the episode finally and whew! I don't know how I feel. It's almost as if this Meerub and Murtasim are strangers and alien to me from what I had grown to watch and love since Episode 1.
Ok, maybe, just maybe it was written as consensual angry sex, does this make any logical sense in the current scenario? Why add the slap and spit last minute to justify consensual sex? They could have shown that Murtasim in anger goes towards Meerub, they have a screaming match, and in that anger, she confesses she loves him, he is shocked but they are so close in proximity, that they cut the scene next to them sitting like that.
This would justify that it was consensual, but some clarity on Meerub's actions that she did not expect it to be this way and Murtasim to feel guilty that the night they finally consummated was because of the worst fight of their lives and not because they finally confessed to each other.
This is too convulated to show unless they show a proper scene of angry fighting and heightened emotions and then proper monologues.
This was patched up edited crap which. made no sense. Self-punishment??? for what??? This and the shots from the promos make it look like MR, or at least that he made the move and she gave in (if it was dubious consent - because she does love him, but has not accepted it to herself yet).
The amount of leeway and benefit of doubt everyone is giving Nooran, I just want to say, that she is not that competent a writer to write something so nuanced and layered and filled with flawed characters and emotional outbursts.
