I thought that is why MK looked so upset when MZ said: "Merub ko thank you kehna. Apna vaada poora karne ke liye".

He realized in that moment that Merub had prioritized her vaada to MZ over MK's heartfelt confession and pleas the night before ("kuch aisa mat karna jisse meri doosri chahat ek aur khwab doorhojaye main sambhal nahi paoonga"; "khud ko aur mujhe sambhal lena please").

Mariyum herself said many times u have to fulfill your promise u made to us

She didn't help mariyum so that anas can live happily

She helped mariyum so that mariyum don't get marry against her wish & commit suicide

No one find murtasim doing forced marriage to his sister wrong by the way.
