I wonder if it was Merub's involvement per se or because the video evidence that showed Merub's involvement also told them that it is an elopement. Until this time, they thought it was an abduction.

Abduction vs elopement changes the optics considerably.

If a rival family abducts your sister, you can go to the bigger panchayat / jirga for conflict resolution or arbitration. Like when MZ murdered those three men, MK went to gaon and met with the panchayat / jirga who tried to resolve the conflict between Khans and Maliks. If it's an abduction. Khans will clearly be deemed the wronged party and any decision will be in their favour.

If your sister elopes, you will not go to the panchayat / jirga for conflict resolution or arbitration. Ladki ka ghar se bhaagna iss khandaan ki naak katwana - they will want to keep this hush hush. Also, even if they were to go to panchayat, there is no guarantee Khans will be deemed the wronged party or that the decision will be in their favour.

So I feel that even if Marub was not involved, and MK had found Maryam eloped instead of being abducted, he would have made the deal with MZ.

Haya uffff Meerub is not insecure or jealous of H and H couldn’t win against MK love for Meerub , she realised soon KMK won’t give up on them until Meerub herself does something , so she targeted Meerub and rest is history! H hit on Meerub weakness- Impulsive and Pride. Meerub in that room saw man who rejected her as few minutes back and is in another woman arms and she blew!

see i am not defending meerab's action bcoz nothing can justify her involvement in marium's eloping ...

but murtisim to think that meerab had done all this deliberately to ruin marium's life , this was completely uncalled ... what was the point of showing it ..

Funny thing is that Merub made the vaada to Malik Zubair (not Maryam).🤔

It is MZ who asks for the vaada. The whole conversation is between Merub and MZ. Finally, Merub gives the vaada to MZ.
