I must say that there was relationship progression until around E30 - Merub even says in E28 that hamara rishta mazboot ho raha hai.
Here is the relationship progression as I had seen it:
- Growing physical intimacy/attraction. From E12-19, Mu would initiate, Me gets flustered, and gives a tart response. In E20, the first time Me initiates touch, and in E21-23, we see Me enjoying and reciprocating Mu romantic attention (dance, gajra, choodi, etc.). The Me in E30 and start of E31 was more sexually confident and assertive - the kambal tease was her trying to flip the power dynamics where she was the initiator and Mu was the one flustered.
- Trust being built related to compliance with contract limits and Mu respect for Me consent (contract tape back, can I, etc.)
- Progression in how they communicate in E25 when Mu explained to Me why Naila can't go back and she backed down - in contrast to how both reacted first time with Naila incident.
- Mutual care - Me takes care of Mu (after accident - they allude to it in E21, put blanket on him when sleeping in E29). In E27, Mu take care of Me after wrist fracture and feeds her soup.
- Acknowledgement of her rishta / haq. We heard Me accept Mu haq (mai usko jawabda hoon, woh shauhar hai mera, hamara rishta mazboot hota ja raha hai, apna haq samajh ke yahan chali aayi )
HOWEVER, this relationship progression was abandoned (and even reset and/or reversed) around the E30 mark. Watching some of these later episodes would give me whiplash as they pretended that none of the progression we saw earlier even happened.
