I think they will be very happy.

In their minds MR is definitely happening but most of them were still defending the offender and blaming the victim. I even heard them saying that both are equally at fault in this relationship even if MR happens.

Neither any religion nor any law is in favour of MR, unfortunately it's just that society which thinks that MR is Halal because they are husband wife.

I don't think there is any law for MR in India. SC may have given ruling by looking at the facts and people can file cases citing SC ruling but no laws till now.

It was not a criminal offence in India and that was because we follows IPC act of 1861 and another reason was again the thinking of husband-wife relationship, many times before announcing it as criminal offence SC gave the ruling that It can be morally wrong but not criminally as it would destroy the sanctity of marriage institution, but then SC recently gave a ruling that it’s a criminal offence and I am glad that we did this, we have seriously covered a long way to reach here, now it’s a criminal offence but the thinking process of most of the society is still same, we may not like it but it is what it is, marriage word has the power to justify this heinous act🤷‍♀️
