Bold: absolutely. She is an individual with autonomy. Marriage is where both parties openly accept each other as responsibility in partnership in front of everyone. So that it's not ambiguous which can often lead to this like casting couch or favor in jobs or any unfair advantage. Everyone knows who is with who. It sets the needed boundaries for all.
But that is only the first part. Even with marriage comes consent as the other person is a being. You don't own them. They have a right to sustainance, shelter and agency that's their human right. Who is a husband to threaten over that, give it or take it away?
After the promo the inhumane people especially females have come out in hordes to rear their ugly heads under the pretense of religion using words of perverted preachers and illogical thinking. They talk about God but don't use the brain they have by design.
They're like murtasim is rich handsome and loving this is okay. It's her husband. Then what about people forced to marry others against their will. Or child brides? That's marriage too. Or forcefully marrying a mentally incapacitated person. These things are rampant in south Asia.
Will they then say the above heinous things are okay because it's a marriage.
I'm always heartbroken to see females be part of jahalat.
Sorry for the rant. 😞

RANT COMING
- Meerab and Murtaims solo fans have ammunition to destroy this couple with impunity. They were never meant to be, they were always a toxic couple and everyone who rooted for them were delusional fools. TB fans didn't understand these characters for 46 episodes we were in some alternate dimension/space watching some other show because we are that bloody stupid. And don't quote me Murtasim janwar dialogues, his bark is worse than his bite.
- Anyone and Everyone who didn't like TB to begin with can crucify this show. They are now free to say this show was always about sex not love, it is Mills and Boon, it is fifty shades, it is trashy romance about a horny guy who just wanted to have sex with a woman. Consent what you talking about, never heard of it before in this show.
- This leads to the next problem man versus woman. That a woman is ultimately responsible for a man's sin, she makes him sin so she is the real sinner. Meerab has been withholding consent and she has every fouckkingg right to do so till the end of times. I don't fouckkkinggg care if she spit on his face or kicked him in the balls he can't rape her that is not how this works. But by pushing her actions to the extreme it has brought out the conservative religious zealots out of their hiding places that say that a husband must keep a wife in her place, if he doesn't then her nasty behaviour is the husband's fault, where is your manhood boy. This means a husband can use any means necessary to check her bad behaviour and he will be justified in doing so because she provoked him first.
- Meerab has no right to refuse sex to her legally wedded husband it is shohar's haq, if he wants it he can take it any time wants. This is according to Pak islamic laws that marital rape is not a crime (this is not me this is SM), so what is he does rape her what is everyone screaming about. Fans are overreacting he is her husband guys take a chill pill and enjoy the happy DDLJ ending.
- Anything can be redeemed in the name of love. All that matters is that Murtasim loves Meerab, so what if he committed one of the worst crimes that a man can do to a woman. Oh baby I am sorry now let me give you a jappi pappi hug, I am really really sorry. Besides you did so many things I forgave you why can't you not forgive me this one tiny mistake and what is really important is I love you oh sooooooo much.
- TB fans are outraged that the character of Murtasim is ruined more than about the issue of Marital rape. Please spare me the moral high ground, we don't want Murtasim ruined not because we love Murtasim but we actually take the crime of Marital rape SERIOUSLY. Martial Rape should should be addressed in a well made drama, written by someone with real credibility not this evil ekta kapoor wannabe Nooran. It should be shown with maturity, the story should be about MR, what are the horrific consequences, what is the punishment, is redemptions possible if so why, if not then what does a woman do. MR is not a punch line for a promo cut, it is geo/7sky that has made this crime into a joke by using what is a painful subject for so many women as a promotional gimmick to get TRPs.
- The 2 dramas I watched Muqaddar and Bashar Momin both had MRs. Was it addressed with any sensitivity nope, was it even considered a crime nope, was the guy redeemed yup, was the trauma of the women even properly acknowledged nope. What is the stats of MR being shown in Pak Drama, I don't know, but I bet it is high so this backlash isn't just about TB. This is about decades of Pak drama producers using MR as a plot point in their story lines without acknowledging its serious consequences. And by doing so they taint Pakistan, and since TB has extensive global popularity Pak culture, religion, laws everything is being judged, scrutinized, and debated around the world.
- This drama was promoted as romance not a societal cause drama. If Murtasim was capable of committing this crime, then we should have been forewarned, they should have made it perfectly clear from the start and the audience is mentally prepared to handle what is coming. But did they do that no they didn't. They falsely promoted their characters so should we not be upset about this. You can't make the hero rape the heroine on the 47 episode and end the show in a few episodes. By doing so this is just all the previous problems put together, that means you didn't take MR seriously at all, why should he be redeemed because he loves her so all is forgiven, why did he do this oh because she behaved badly so she is to blame, oh right he was the husband it was never a crime to begin with.
