Dhawan spot on with the analysis of his bowlers. They didn't pitch it up when it was seaming around. Khaleel and Ishant did. That was the big difference between the two sides. And then Nortje sealing it with the 16th and the 19th. Just heavy lengths with that extra bounce in the pitch.

Phew what a game! The last four overs took everyone on a ride. Livingstone ensured the ride was full of thrills and chills. DC had almost thrown it away so much so that they could have lost this despite having 33 to defend in the last over. The first ball was a dot in the final over. But then a six and a four followed by a no-ball which was hit for a sixer. 16 was needed off the last three balls but Livingstone just couldn't connect on the free-hit ball which was a swirling full toss outside off. Earlier, Punjab leaked plenty of runs. They were set a mammoth target of 214. Punjab started off by giving away a maiden to Khaleel. Dhawan fell for a duck. And the start wasn't ideal. Taide and Livingstone got them back into the game but the rate was more than 17 per over going into the last five overs. The partnership brewed as DC continued to drop one chance after the other else DC could have closed the game much earlier. Taide was retired out in a tactical move. But Jitesh Sharma, Shahrukh Khan and Sam Curran couldn't muster much. That meant the run chase was solely on the shoulders of Livingstone. He tried hard but they fell short by 15 runs.

Shikhar Dhawan: It was frustrating. We didn't bowl really well in the first six wickets, we should have taken some wickets the way it was swinging. It's quite a close game, but can't help it. There was hope after that no ball, Livi played a great knock, unfortunately we couldn't end up on the other side. I fell my decision to bowl spin off the last over backfired. The momentum also went there. Before that, my fast bowlers got hit for 18-20 runs. Those two overs cost us the game. Our bowlers didn't pitch the ball up in the powerplay. That was the plan and unfortunately they couldn't execute. In this sort of a wicket, whether we take wickets or not, we should bowl at the right areas which we are not doing for quite a long time. That's hurting us. Every powerplay, we have been giving 50-60 runs, we should be taking wickets as well. We knew that it'd swing for 1-2 overs. We lost the first wicket in the 2nd over, I got out and the 1st over was also a maiden - we lost six balls over there.
