I don’t know where you live but when I was in Pakistan, everyone dressed appropriately but since I’ve moved to Canada, I’ve seen people mostly overdressed in eastern wear .. be it a birthday party or a simple dinner. Maybe because they don’t get much chance to wear desi clothes. Having said that , one must wear what they feel comfortable in!Originally posted by: Alizba63
I love simple classic.
Problem these days is if you wear minimal to a house party then people will ask if you're sick 😆
Matlab brown people that is brown girls in the last decade has been wearing the same amount of atta..I mean make up as a bride for weekly house parties. No it's not for Devali or Eid. Just casually 🤣
I have gone simply up until 2 years ago . Even my version of over glam is their under glam 🤣
Kya din hai 😆
.
My recent favorite are lucknow dresses.. i think thats what they are called 😂
i find them very nice, chic and elegant!! Its all hand work design and you find them in all price ranges too..
If you are talking about Indian Lucknow dresses - the embroidery is called chikan work . They come in all prices as prices depends on the fabric and quality of chikan work . The finer and heavier the embroidery, the more expensive it is. Usually , good quality one starts from about 50 CAD or 3K INR

Yes yes. There you go. I bet you got surprised. But given it's not a normal Desi culture where you can just go out in chiffon or cotton dresses to work you overdo when you get a chance 🤣
That said always wear what you feel confident in. That shows way More than any dress!

I agree . I am an Indian and I go to temple, and people are decked up in heavy suit and jewellery like they are dressed up for wedding instead of normal Indian festival .
I wear what I like - some time trousers and some time simple cotton suits .
