Jhoom which looked like a masala show from the promos turns out to be pretty decent and less dramatic,the fl and ml both have strong characters and the ml character is something Bilal could have done bcs its not a total masala show,the character seems to have depth and huge scope to perform,i wont mind if Bilal gets to perform something like that on geo,it will give him both,fame and his acting wont be compromised.😔

Haven't seen jhoom but it's pretty obvious nobody else was considered for the lead role and the entire drama is made for kaddu boy. 😆

I guess except for one telefilm on geo, Bilal never did anything on geo. He didn't do a geo show even at the start of the career to get noticed. But he said his first audition was for 7th sky😆

I think this is quite unfair on Wahaj. He is not just playing a hot, macho guy here. The story is nonsensical now no doubt, but Tere Bin is successful only because of the acting of it's leads. Put any other 2 actors there, and Tere Bin would not be as successful. That's a fact. Bilal has had many more successful shows and chemistry with his leads so he is already a star. He doesn't need Geo, but given that right now Geo is the one with the mass production value, nothing wrong if he does a Geo show (for the money and hype) that it will bring for him.

The only reason why TB got the hype is because of wahaj and yumna and nothing else. Wahaj didn't get big solo lead projects and his good projects didn't get the recognition it deserved and that's why i said he was underrated. I guess the only successful solo project of his before TB was Ishq jalebi. Wahaj is a good actor so obviously he will bring a certain standard to mediocre script and half baked character. There is no doubt to it In TB murtu don't have a proper character graph except being a hot macho guy that loves his wife. If he had his reaction to behaya wouldn't have been so volatile and his brain would have been functioning properly. Forget murtu nobody has a character graph or proper functioning brain in that show and everyone's reaction is according to the situation and not according to their characterisation.

@bold i think thats the exact reason why Bilal don't do geo shows. He don't want money and hype by doing the kind of shows geo mostly make. It's not just Bilal, even most of the other actors that care more about content than hype rarely does geo shows unless they come up with projects like alif or jo bichad gaye.

My only point is, for someone like Wahaj to do Geo shows is to get recognition because clearly he is very talented and does not need massy shows to prove his worth. But if you are not noticed in a big way, you also don't get the opportunity to pick the shows that you want to do. If you listen to his interview about TB, he mentions that Yumna told him to take up this project because she predicted this would be a mass appeal show (even though if you see his graph, his sensibilities don't align with this kind of a messy show). Sometimes the best actors need a big hype to be able to get more scripts and get the choice to pick up such scripts.

Billu may not need it now, but who knows maybe at some point when there is lack of scripts/money, he or any other major actor may need to do a mass appeal show.

Geo is akin to a Dharma or YashRaj mass production - they have the money and mass appeal which sometimes even a serious actor like Amir Khan needs. :P (Dhoom 3 - case in point - even though that was a massive flop).

I never said anything negative about wahaj picking up TB. I always said i understand why wahaj took TB and he got the recognition he deserved through it. He already proved his potential with jo bichad gaye and i guess from ehd e wafa times people did consider him to be a good actor but he wasn't getting major lead roles or was considered a bankable actor or star before TB. Geo at best can be compared to starplus and not Dharma or yashraj. Aamir khan mostly does commercial projects with a storyline and not completely artistic movies. Dhoom 3 was an action thriller and action thrillers in general don't have much story and it's main essence is to create adrenal rush inside the audience. Tom cruise's mission impossible or James bond series don't have Oscar worthy storyline but have hight standard high octane action sequences which is far from reality but fun to watch. Action thrillers are a genre of it's own and cannot be compared to masala movies or dramas.
