I am also thinking the same.

Maybe she sent them both messages from the other saying to meet in the bedroom so they could reconcile. So MK was only expecting Merub to be there.

Like the Bridgerton S2 scene, when Edwina sent a note to both Kate and Anthony to meet at the the wedding venue. Anthony thought the note was from Kate and Kate thought the note was from Anthony.

But it was all a set up by Haya to make Merub think MK and her are having a chakkar, and leave MK for good.
