exactly; I really don't understand why they are rushing through the realization and making it all so superficial and clinical. even in a mini series, these kind of realizations are layered so well that when you watch such scenes, you feel it in your heart. here, nothing.

Just rushing to close this loop so they can bring something else up. How in the world will this lead to Katha changing her decision, I don’t know! Why will Katha want to change her decision if all she can do is advise him? What is the attraction? His suffering?

what is really sad is that it is a missed opportunity for really good dhoom tana tana type drama -- the type of stuff that gets TRP audience hooked. it is not just dramatic but the kind of conflict that has real heart. instead, they have watered down this also to some simpering teenage nonsense.

whereas the same thing in a children's movie or cartoon would have you shedding tears -- nothing like a child that feels rejected by a father. these kind of conflicts are real and people have to work them out. so how does one do that as an adult. such missed opportunities.

Definitely it's a missed opportunity. No one can hook to the show as story goes. I was thinking we will get something progressive story of Robin Batman but boom 💥 everything ruined because of Viraj Raghuvanshi 🤔

I haven’t seen this week’s epis yet but if they’re going to show regressing crap with Viaan blaming the other women, I will pass till the story moves on from there. Viaan needs therapy not unprofessional advice from Katha but ITV will never show a character getting professional therapy not sure why. No offence to Katha, but she is in no spot to advice Viaan about anything especially about his life.

Sadly due to family respect etc the couple were never separated. The 3 daughters were treated like filth, having to visit the other lady's house for the girls weekly expenses etc. It terrified the girls very much the dad in his lifetime didn't bother to get the girls married. 2 of the girls decided not to get married at all😭

This is quite common, yes. However, given how much Viraj loved and believed in his son, to make a decision to not reach out to him at all is bewildering.
@bold, these things are worked out in the settlement. Custody, visitation rights etc. It’s just poor writing, comes across as stuff randomly put together.

Agree patents separating due to incompatibility issues is more tolerable than a parent choosing someone else and walking over with no consideration to the little people involved in the family.

I think no compassionate thinking can ameliorate their pain, and hence we never used to discuss these issues with my friends. I am surprised how easily in KA CVs are letting katha go on like a motor mouth in bashan mode with Viaan😡

these days, there are number of kids facing this turmoil in the school level. it is not something that one gets over so quickly. in many ways, this is a real life issue and we don't often see how adult children deal with the past in a mature way. it could have been written so well and instead, they made it all about katha's lectures magically saving viaan. 🙄🙄

in real life, katha's lectures would hurt people like viaan to the point they would break. it is very easy to say "just move on" when you have not faced such pain or even know what that kind of pain can look like for someone. she is just yakking so insensitively -- a typical FL in some ways. what I give side eye to is how viaan is taking it all in and not even fighting back. instead he glows and says "great advice!" 🤦🤣

therapy for emotional hurts is still not completely accepted though it has gained more acceptance. however, people always go at the last moment when it has really affected them to the point of meltdown (like marriage breaking up). they want ready made solutions when none are available. also the number of professionals (psychiatrists and pyschologists) are very less.

EDITED to include the data from uncle google: this is from one news article -- "According to National Crime Records Bureau 2015, the entire mental health workforce, comprising clinical psychologists, psychiatric social workers and psychiatric nurses, stands at 7,000, while the actual requirement is around 55,000"

this is more within the urban context. within the rural areas, access to mental health counseling of any kind would be even harder.

so that is one reason, you will not see it on TV because it is quite different from abroad. that said, people do seek advice from elders.

there were a few turkish dizis I really enjoyed because of the advisor -- someone older, experienced and said some of the most interesting lines through the form of stories as well as practical stuff. so the role of therapist can be shown that way as well.

however, ITV is often bent on making FL mahaan by having her be unlicensed therapist even though she knows squat -- if anyone in real life copies such acts, it would actually be more detrimental...

Wow after reading your post to me it seems like ITV has so much scope and potential to show people receiving therapy to fight internal conflicts and come out of it. The media has so much influence on people especially movies and dramas that I really think they should use it wisely to convey such a strong social message and to increase acceptance not only in urban areas but in rural areas as well. Perhaps the lack of awareness also hinders people from taking up such professions and I think ITV would be a great medium to increase that awareness. If only we lived in an ideal world though…

I do know of professionals in the field. so there has been increased awareness and more acceptance over the years but it is still somewhat of a last minute type resort. plus, the factors that cause mental health stressors here are complicated -- like pressure from mother-in-laws or unsupportive husband etc. so people think of getting help as something futile. but yes, dramas could explore this in a good way. like I said, if not a therapist, then just show someone elder or community leader -- just to make it okay to talk to people and open up about your struggles.

someone like jeetubhai who is older, more life experience as well as knows the family and viraj to give a broader perspective to viaan rather than katha.
