I have watched the documentary. The only thing which is similar is that the case is about wife's murder that too after few days of marriage.
Ye pattern tu aap ko crime patrol mein bhi kafi mil jata hai

Me too, for me the motivation to do crime is always the best part of a murder mystery. I want to know that more than who is the killer. I feel like the story could have been elevated if it wasn't so basic.

Honestly my dil ke armaan ansuo mai beh gaye.
They could have shown anybody the killer but not the driver bcoz that would be too lame and obvious .
Jurm has let me down. Not sure about others.
The murderer was a big let down and it is still not clear who sent the wannabe journalist those recordings but I still enjoyed it a lot..loved the performances and the dynamics between the three leads.
Khoda pahaad nikli chuhiya...
Imo the ending was very lackluster. Hameed did it for money.
But there's still some ambiguity wrt Samiya... The ending scene where she pays the down payment for the new house, saying she was sure she could pay it. And there's the question of Ashley Victor getting the recordings and the fact that Samiya knew Ashley from before. Makes you think if the ambiguity was deliberate and that Samiya knew that Ashley was an amateur and would amplify the issue.
The point about social media journalism was well done. All in all a good effort from the Pak industry and Mehreen Jabbar. It left a lot to be desired but it's a welcome change from the run of the mill dramas.

Jurm switched genres at the end - it went from being a thriller to social commentary.
I am all for subverting genre expectations, but I don't think this is it. As someone expecting a pulpy thriller, I felt short changed by the ending.
In a way, the ending was a commentary itself on the audience of the show - like Ashley and her viewers, the audience of Jurm were also expecting sinister twists and sensational reveals. But the truth is far more mundane and boring. While I appreciate the message and see the irony of it, I still wish had ended on a different note.
So what's the final verdict guys? Is it worth watching?
After seeing the last few posts it don't seems to be impressive.
