So, where exactly do you find "hypocrisy" in my post? Did you even read it with not having a preconception of me, a kind of biais?

How can you even compare so diametral subjects like a Modi-complimenting biopic movie and a movie about women lured into and exploited by a terror organisation???

Edit: As for the intentions...I know that the Modi biopic was to praise Modi and support his reelection (that's why the release date got postponed until after the election).

I may have an idea about the intention of The Kerala Story, but I don't know it yet...it may have a political one or not, but it won't be to praise a ruling political leader.

So the Modi biopic got postponed, and we’re saying we actually think this movie had the power to control/sway the minds of millions? Interesting. Btw I say this as someone who hasn’t seen the movie, does not plan to see it and does not particularly care for the BO numbers it made. What a shame that there were pages and pages of members angry at protests against Pathaan and co (rightfully so), but none at the gundagardi in Kerala.

The point is about the number. You yourself are relying on a number to assess the intensity of the issue. I am happy makers did the right thing by changing the number to more realistic value.

Growth rate is higher in any community with less education; and that’s not just limited to Kerala. Considering Kerala’s one of the most educated state, this shouldn’t happen, and there is a propaganda, no one denies that. Just that the scale isn’t as high as people claim to be. There are other burning ‘life-and-death’ issue impacting more population.

What is happening in Sweden ? Do you have a link ?

that’s right..it’s not the number as the media reports it to be..it’s much more than that sadly. It’s true that there are other issues which need attention..I will want to watch movie on that too if it brings it to light..but I will not brush this under the carpet either. In any case, torture, rape, brutality met out to even one woman in the name of religion is very disgusting and needs to be called out. It’s not just important for Hindus but even Muslims frankly..since they are misrepresenting the teachings of Islam and god knows what some Muslim women are going through on a daily basis. Watch Caliphate on Netflix for the Sweden related issue.

Worst is so called most literate state of India is facing this problem.

32k is less no. then the real victims.

It is problem of not only Kerala but of India and also of many countries in the world.

There is no propaganda just pure facts. They won't be able to show brutal truth bcoz apparently showing truth against particular wrongdoers is always propaganda.

It wasn't postponed by the filmmakers' decision but from the censorboard side...they wanted the movie to be released AFTER the elections.

You're right, here in the forum the political reaction in Kerala isn't discussed at large...I'm only reading more about the issue the last days through other sources (but wouldn't like to engage in a deaper discussion before not having watched the movie).

Unfortunately, I may have to wait for an OTT-release as the movie isn't shown in the region where I live (until now).

I think, here in the forum everything related to SRK (or Salman) is discussed the most (which isn't new to me as I know it from other forums).

No. The worst part is trying to start any kind of civilised debate on the matter. You will automatically be branded a racist. Islamophobia absolutely exists. As does extreme schools of thought. The Taliban, ISIS, Al Qaeeda etc. and the reality is they do actively try and recruit people. Either to their ideology or as physical fighters. But in 2023, most people aren’t even willing to have that discussion? And what happens when people buy in to it? You get ISIS brides from Kerala/UK etc. You slowly begin to see men not wanting to educate their daughters. You see a kid in France slaughter their teacher when they disagree with them. No one is talking about fighting this ideology? We’re so God damn worried about being politically correct all the time.

The problem I see in discussing the issue displayed in The Kerala Story is something that I experienced in the discussion about TKF (and many other issues, too): generalisation & stereotyping

Wrongdoers are - in my thinking - first persons who do very wrong things regardless any other attribute. It's only when I look for possible reasons for the wrong-doing, I consider life defining conditions.

I don't much about this case.......but damn ...is it 32,000???😲.......How is it even possible....that so many girls were brainwashed/kidnapped and the Govt doesn't know about it??? like how?? How is such a big gang of ISIS is operating in the middle of the country?? It has to be big to be the number that big........the govt which goes after 2 grams of drugs.....doesn't know about this going on in their country??? Something doesn't add up here......like I said I don't have much idea....but the numbers are definitely fishy...and if they are true....then its appalling....that a movie is being made but the govt has let this happen in real...
