I waited for this news...it's in the same vain as TKF getting promoted by politics.

The subject as such (globally relevant) is worth to be told...I've my doubts about the worth of the rendition... (again like it had been - to me - with TKF).

Out of interest Clochette, why according to you did a movie literally titled PM Narendra Modi only make about 2.5cr on the first day and as a movie just about broke even? Should’ve hit new records if getting promoted by politicians made that much of a difference no? Would also love to know who you would choose as a director to tell this story?

Sev, you're an intelligent person and I guess you know why the movie you named tanked 😉

Imo, so much was wrong with that movie at that time...the concept, how Modi's political leadership in Gujarat was depicted, Vivek as co-writer and protagonist, his father as producer, the initial release date, the glaringly obvious intention of the movie.

Nothing against a biopic on Modi but not at a time where he is still eligible as PM. Vivek wasn't a bad choice as actor but everything else indeed was.

Personally, I would like a director versed in doing interesting and well researched documentaries for a Modi-biopic.

the point is not the number..it’s the notoriety of the fundamentalists and the forced conversions that happen in it which need to be brought to light..the percentage of Hindus dropping in Kerala by 17 percent is alarming ..but hey it’s all propaganda and lies even if the same thing is happening in Sweden and through the grooming gangs in UK 😒

Right. So to set the record straight, Vivek as co writer wasn’t right and one of the contributing factors to the failure despite political promotion but an absolute nobody like Adah Sharma somehow contributed to 4x the collections on opening day? As per a lot of people, the “intention” as you called it of both the movies is exactly the same, why does one work over the other? When a movie does well, we blame political factors and this supposed huge influence they have on the people. When that same movie does well despite politicians running protests against the movie or calling for a ban, we call it star power and power of the people. It’s the hypocrisy that I have never been able to digest on this forum. What we say depends on whether our fav is in the movie and what political leanings we have. That much is abundantly clear.
