Khushi's reaction and knowledge of divorce really did throw him off balance. And the whole point of him backing out of his well thought out process is indeed what you mentioned. Divorce is hard, and he is getting the cold feet.

The last point, Arnav took care of the photos even before this whole mess began. Even when he was ready to tell Khushi. That's more of handling the mess due to professional reasons. What makes him a true jerk is that he knew Lavanya was upset about those photos, and for reasons one or other, he didn't think it was necessary to inform her.

Thanks for the clarifications that his behavior is just cold feet.

Or that the photos have been taken care of even in the prologue.

The only time I like him being a jerk is that did not bother to inform lavanya.

For me our actions have consequences. Hey you sleep with a married man why should you not bear the consequence of it?

Hopefully both would have at least in today's world of moral police. But all she lost is few hours of her beauty sleep.

Anamika broke up with Arnav. I am not questioning her reasons here, but when she broke up, it hurt Arnav, a lot. He tried to reason with her, get back with her, but her actions were kind of ruthless and Arnav had to nurse a broken heart for almost an year.

So Arnav knows what is heartbreak and how it hurts.

Strange that the same Arnav never even spoke to Khushi why he wants out of the marriage. Remember here, Arnav is married to Khushi for a decade, she is not his girlfriend or a fling.

Really shocks me that he never reasoned with her few months ago how they are growing apart, and worst she had to come to know about the divorce through a third person.

Anamika was better to at least tell Arnav in person that it was over.

Arnav turned out to be worse than her.

Just because Khushi never expected big things from Arnav, just because she would be happy with little actions from Arnav's side, was it easier to let go of her? Maybe what Payal said was true, he never truly loved her. It was more a convenience from his side.

Also Khushi was not able to conceive, I am guessing. Was this one reason for her to distance from him or generally from life? It happens, it is really tough for women when they are unable to conceive. Some even slip into depression and many marriages have also broken due to the other partner not lending an emotional support during the tough times. How did Khushi take this situation? How did she deal with it and was Arnav aware of her mental state?

Lastly just want to add, irrespective of how or why Arnav slept with Lavanya, she deserves a bit of respect from her. He has slept with her for crying out aloud, don't treat her like trash. I don't care if he wants to pursue his relationship with her or not, but as a human being, she deserves some kind of decent behaviour from him.

Don't know how she is tolerating such crap from him.

Thank you for the long chapter.

You are absolutely correct that if one has experienced heartbreak one should know what it entails. Or one hope so. Completely missed the parallel you have pointed out,K 😍

Regarding Arnav's behavior to Lavanya..I took it as reactionary. He had just being hammered by Payal and shown the mirror.

So he did not want to deal with Lavanya's proposition "again".

In the prologue too he is polite and firm and tells her the same. .that he is not ready for a relationship with her or anyone.

His divorce has no meaning to her maybe because of the relationship they share (not talking about intimacy)..hey even she knows about the divorce 😊

And she proportioned him again in the party..what should he do? Be nice to a grown up woman who does not get it? When did sex and a steady relationship go hand in hand !

True we don't know how the relationship has developed in 6 years but I cannot erase from my head Lavanya's interlude.

Callous and I should get what I want by all means. Morality be damned.

I used to literally run away from my friends who used to booze a little in any party, thinking they will get mad drunk and do nuisance.😂

It wasn't just small towns where you found this perspective. Women of my mom's generation, even when they lived in bigger cities, had that perception. Social drinking was not a thing in India until recently.

Ok, so I am here again.

Read the update just 11mins after, you updated on tuesday evening, had an exam on wednesday morning, and was constantly thinking of this update, trying to wrap my head around and articulate my thoughts since then. But not able to do any of it probably because the story is too real to be fictional, you have written it in such a realistic way that it is hard, it is hard in my part to let it go, thinking, it is just another fictional story on ARSHI why to be so serious about it.?

Now coming to the update-- as much as i want to write pages on my opinions and thoughts on every character and scenes- be it arnav's absolute (i don't know what, this 34year arnav makes me speechless with his insensitivity, immorality, i am clueless on what to call him anymore), be it akash being lenient towards his friend, be it payal's outburst, and the absolutely disgusting conversation between 3 highly immoral, manipulative, self-centered people (go around to ruin and destroy an innocent's life and than think about the success of your film, reputation and money) people with so less morals in life disgusts me, but for now all that matters is-

every other character can have their opinions, dilemmas and pov but none of their life is destroyed. The only life that is in shambles is of Khushi's, the one person who is the most selfless and human out of the whole lot. Probably its true when they say "straight trees are cut first".

For women from small towns and villages their marriage, husband becomes their whole universe and existence. I am myself from a small town and so I can relate to this Khushi on some level.

I completely agree with payal that arnav actually never feel in love with khushi, he just loved her because he was supposed to. The "I LOVE YOU TOO" that he said was probably just a reaction to khushi's confession, the kiss, and anamika combined.

He just stepped on her to climb his stairs of success and was ungrateful to her once he got success. His missing khushi on the stairs was just familiarity of having a routine, you had for long. Nothing else.

I also think, the marriage was all about arnav, his struggles, his studies, his family, his success, his comfort and khushi allowed it to be like that, which was her mistake.

I second with the user @canapoem (sorry i don't know your name) that they should face a huge loss of money and reputation, i badly want the photos to get leaked and hence cause huge loss. They have snatched from khushi her most precious possession which was her marriage, and now they should loose their most precious possession which is money for Arnav and career, reputation for La.

(The real world hardly have such instant karma but atleast the fictional world can.)

Loved how you have highlighted the core issue..that the one who has the maximum to lose in this is Khushi.

Also that marriage is about two people. Support is good and needed but not at the expense of your own need and happiness.

We don't know yet was Khushi was able to do what she wanted to..the hope is she did

Some readers have expressed a wish to see huge losses for Lavanya and Arnav. While that would be poetic justice, I would actually like to see the reverse. Let him attain all the money and power and feel empty inside. Let him have no one to share it with. Its lonely at the top. Let him get there and be lonely.

Lavanya, I couldn't care less. Hopefully she will grow up.

Yes, so many relations that she made failed her. Arnav-her husband, aman- the man she treated like her brother, i understand the professional commitment but when you go to lengths to hide someone's sins, you become the sinner as well. (I know not many will agree to my pov regarding aman but may be its just my personal consciousness of never siding with the wrong, specially when I have a personal equation with the person who is wronged upon).

This will also hurt khushi that so many people in the room know that the sanctity of her marriage is long gone except her who was made a fool for long.

Also, doesn't matter what she goes on to do in life next, but this scar will remain with her forever bleeding her, it is impossible to heal completely and be the same person again, specially for such characters like khushi. People tend to develop a deep sense of insecurity, low self esteem when cheated.

As i said, it is khushi who is loosing the most.

P.s- Writerji update soon with all your heart and soul but may be a little less of my tears.? 😉

I hope the Resurgence is Khushi living her best life; happy, probably educated now, possibly remarried with a child or two five, six years down the line and Arnav witnessing this and realizing what he has lost. And his Resurgence is coming to terms with his sins. I am sorry, but I don’t wish him physical harm but I would like to see some emptiness and deep sadness and unhappiness for him. Maybe, with true happiness never to be regained. Vengeful much?

This is my take. In my opinion only Arnav has the responsibility, moral or otherwise to tell Khushi about Lavanya. It is hurtful, sensitive, heart breaking and only he should tell her.

Yes similar to Akash..note he has looked at Arnav with pity and dissappointment. Not condoned his actions and told Arnav so.

If Arnav had not filed for divorce and they were hiding it then they are complicit in the deception and morally wrong.

One should not discount that one's earnings are important. Hard to quit a good job and find another quickly. We tend to compartmentalize and not fight other misdeeds.

And all this is relatively new...what folks due in future we don't know. Some may continue with work with him, some will not.

It is not a easy story to write, right

Writerji, I just want to raise one more point here.

Arnav is not feeling guilty about sleeping with La right?

Yes, he is worried how heartbroken Khushi will be if she finds out, but he is not guilty about what he did.

That makes me wonder, if not Lavanya, it could have been any other woman too with whom he could have had s*x.

So well analyzed.

You were right earlier as well about Arnav becoming ASR :)
