Let me give you an example. In u19 wc 2020 India vs nz game , India were around 120 for 0 in 21 overs. Rain came. Match was shortened to 23 overs. India has just 2 overs left, generally everyone would smack it. But indian team decided we won't lose wickets. So they finished at around 130 for 0.
When Nz came out to chase they had to chase 180 (50 more) in 23 overs and they couldn't do it. Only because India didn't lose wickets. India lose 2/3 would Hbe made nz chase 150 which was easy.
