regarding counseling arnav said that he didn't want to give a shot because he tried...now what does that mean??i don't understand what to infer from his stand..

We don't know how he tried but what we do know is that there have been issues for a long time.
Khushi musings in last chapter was that they have been living together as strangers for a year, thought I read that she had locked herself in "her" room since divorce talk. The two then have been sleeping separately.
Plus Arnav's own musing that he had given up on the marriage long ago..could mean more than a year. He has disdain for societal norms that Khushi follows and is suffocated by domesticity. He wants different things in life
The added nuance is his sleeping with lavanya. We don't know if it happened before or after he decided on divorce.
If it is before than he may blame himself that he has not broken it off with K given he believes there can be no reconciliation.
He appears to holds himself to high standards and must be miserable with his behavior. Fits with the confession to Akash and also not blaming lavanya for divorce.
