Yes, marrying Jay was Ayesha's mistake and Dhruv can't be held responsible for her individual choices.

But on some minute level, he did give her false hope.

This show is about a couple and the makers are trying too hard to make them lovable but Dhruv still comes across as someone who doesn't have basic common sense when it comes to relationships.

He's a good and responsible doctor, helpful, and stands for what's right - all are very good qualities.

But at its core, his actions have somewhat created a ripple affect.

All he needed to do was be firm and make Ayesha understand that he really saw her as a friend but a platonic relationship can be as strong as a romantic one. Instead, he played a martyr and promised he'll never marry as a punishment for hurting Ayesha.

Then again if we see from Susheela's perspective, the makers showed her too negatively at the beginning but which mother wouldn't feel bad if his son achieves something big and offers sweet to an unknown girl?

I believe that at least now Dhruv should clear his stance and apologize for his part in this catastrophe.

Its actually simple. How can we expect Ayesha to move on when Dhruv promised her that he himself won't move on? Won't she have felt selfish if she had done that? Ayesha has been loyal as a lover to Dhruv even if it had resulted in her being disloyal as a wife to Jay.

@red, I've mentioned this before. Sushila wasn't wrong in being against Tara after she tried to abduct him. Although Dhruv saved Tara from his mother by covering for her. But Sushila wasn't foolish like the rest of the family members to not see through Dhruv's lies. After that they also got married from her POV.

Even Tarun is not wrong in hating Dhruv and his family, although his actions are not justifiable. He doesn't know his sister Preeti is married. The picture Preeti painted of Tarun in front of Dhruv and Tara, that he would kill her if he gets to know the truth, we haven't seen that side of him yet. He's been shown treating her nicely only so far. None of the "villains" in the show are evil, they're all grey shaded except senapati.

I don't watch GHKKPM. Only watched some videos on YouTube. AFAIK, Pakhi is a very negative character who has done a lot of bad things, due to which the main couple has suffered many times.

So far, Ayesha has not done anything to that level. She hid Dhruv's passport yes, and she tried to stop Dhruv's wedding with Preeti (which us viewers also wanted). She talked badly with Tara a couple of times. But that's it. She's not overly negative or a vamp.

Dhruv's promise made Ayesha not move on because how could she if he won't? She felt compelled to hold on to her love.

Yes that statement (I won't marry someone else) was probably not required, but he didn't force Ayesha to say yes to Jay.

And as Ayesha herself said in one episode, she was aware of her limits and responsibilities as a DIL and would never cross those lines.

1 & 2 suggests Ayesha felt some kind of emotional dependency on Dhruv and wanted to be near/around him in any form possible, even if it meant marriage to Jay. Which, to be honest, is like apne pair pe kulhadi marna- it's stupidity of the highest order.

Ayesha did the stupidity of marrying Jay. She had more chance of being in Dhruv's life if she hadn't married someone else. By marrying Jay she made sure Dhruv could never be hers.

I agree. This plotline was useless and not needed. I guess the makers thought we need a consistent villain in Dhruv's family to be against Tara. Now after Sushila turning positive, everyone has accepted Tara in the family except Ayesha. She's the only one in Saxena family who can make things difficult for Dhruv and Tara.

For the sake of our sanity and love for DT, we shall pretend that promise wasn't aired, it was a deleted scene 🤣

Tbh.. I never liked that bit. Like Dhruv was unsure of his feelings, he was a friend of Ayesha and then it may or may not have been romantic but the moment she proposed, he didn't have time to think it through and he already knew his brother loved her. So amidst all this emotional turmoil and conflict, he ended up saying things he probably didn't mean or was just trying to console Ayesha and didn't realise she would hold on to those words like a patthar ki lakeer.

At this point tho, both of them should have an honest conversation and Dhruv should clear it.. Jo kaha wo emotions me beh ke bola tha.. aise Dil se didn't mean it. Sorry bro, jee jo apne Jay ke sath, main jaa raha apni Tara ke paas 😆

When you see through this lens, Ayesha comes across as a victim rather than a villain. I bet if the situation was reversed or let's just say if Tara doesn't tamper with historical events and gets married to Senapati, fans would praise her loyalty towards Dhruv. But Ayesha doesn't get that sympathy because she isn't the FL.

As for Dhruv, I still can't connect to his and Tara's supposed eternal love story so I'm not gonna comment on that.

And yes,Tarun has a right to hate Dhruv's family but then again even though we haven't seen him mistreating Preeti, him forcing a marriage when clearly the boy isn't interested looked suspicious. And now with his treasure hunt one can't help but wonder whether he kept a tab on people coming close to discovering Navrang Ban and proposed the alliance after Tara's arrival at Dhruv's house. In my opinion, he is a full-fledged negative character.

As for the Saxena family members, be it Jay or Susheela they had practical reasons for their behavior. Problem is the makers showed them to behave so extremely that we lost sympathy for them.

With Susheela's 180 degree turn, who knows, maybe Jay too can be shown redeeming himself. Now how believable that would be is a different question altogether.
