What a mismatch!! Who will say that MI are five-time champions off the back of that performance? Ishan Kishan struggles to rotate strike, Rohit hasn’t found consistency and their death bowling would be giving all fans nightmares. Oh how badly do they miss Bumrah…. But at the other end of the spectrum, we saw the reigning champions remind us all why they hold the crown. Shubman Gill got another fifty, and today their middle-order joined the party with Abhinav Manohar and David Miller getting vital cameos. They even got their iceman Rahul Tewatia to come out and smoke a few sixes at the death as the hosts registered their highest score in the IPL. In reply, once again Shami and Pandya made it look like GT were offered a different pitch to bowl on with the amount of swing they were able to generate. Rohit Sharma fell cheaply, and MI just couldn't break loose in the powerplay. Then came Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed, as the two Afghan spinners caused the opposition so many problems in the middle-overs. Rashid picked two, and Noor Ahmed claimed three wickets to bury the game. Suryakumar threatened for a bit, but couldn't bat long enough. Then Nehal Wadhera and Piyush Chawla struck a few lusty blows to reduce the margin of defeat. But still, a crushing defeat for MI. Over to the presentations now...

Rohit Sharma | MI captain: That's a little disappointing, we had control of the game and the last few overs went for a few too many runs. Every team has different strengths, we have a good batting line up and we back ourselves to go out and get that target, today wasn't our today. There was some dew and we needed someone to bat a little deeper. We came pretty close in the last game while chasing 215 but we didn't start well with the bat today and that is not the right thing when chasing 200+. Even in the last 7 overs we didn't have many batters batting in the middle.
