Katha's Emotional Turmoil

Today's Katha's scene made me feel anguished, disturbed and at the same time completely satisfied and peaceful. This is how it feels to bear the struggle of moving on from your one and only love.

You feel the need to defend your love, to protect your love. You can't just let it go. You can't just move on. For Katha, Adi is her sukoon, her love, her husband and more than anything else her best friend first and foremost.

She felt such comfort and security with Adi that she let the dam break and let all her feelings out about which she cannot share with anyone else. The feelings that cause her so much distress, anxiety and guilt.

Her speaking about her heart rate increasing whenever she is near Viaan and how she felt only sukoon with her Adi and then realising her heart beats faster with Adi too... Her denying herself is just heart breaking.

For Katha, Adi represents peace,love and comfort. He represents happiness and all is right in the world as long as we are together, kind of feeling. In a way, it was so easy for her to fall in love with him, to fully trust him and be completely content in their relationship.

But with Viaan, it is not going to be such a peaceful, happy and smooth journey for her. Honestly, it never was from the beginning itself. It is going to be a rollercoaster ride of emotions and it is going to be much harder to take the first step towards him.

The feelings she feels for Viaan, the intensity with which she feels both love and hatred for him are going to overwhelm her. For her, accepting her feelings for Viaan is 100 times more difficult than all the challenges she faced throughout her life till now.

Whenever she becomes ready to take the first step towards Viaan it is going to be such a leap of faith for her, it is going to be the deadliest risk she ever took in her life unlike the smooth flow of her first love.

Simply put, Adi is Katha's comfort zone while Viaan represents a challenging intensity of emotions she is unable to escape from, despite doing everything she possibly can. And I am all in for this heart wrenchingly beautiful journey of Katha and Viaan !!

Today's Katha-Adi scene was definitely the stand out piece from the episode.

It was expected that Katha's denial will be tackled at some point but she lies with such confidence that anyone would have believed her saying "main bahut clear hoon that I have no feelings"😆.....the way she was giving condescending smirks to everyone from Dodo to Ehsan whenever anyone tried to even generally have a conversation with her about Viaan.....lol how the mighty have fallen today haunted enough to have a conversation with the ghost of her late husband.

Aditi no doubt did a superb job of showing Katha's range of emotions from first feeling spooked on seeing Adi and then the way she just wanted to pour her heart out to him even as she was scared that the mirage will disappear. I also liked the touch of them showing Adi as a figment of her imagination just smiling at her while she continued to pour out whatever was in her mind....they didn't interrupt it with any response from his side yet because this is essentially her talking to her inner conscience only.

If Katha's sticking point was that she cannot love anyone other than Adi, it would have been nice if she had said this directly in response to Viaan's confession. But back then she gave him a jumble of excuses ranging from "Aarav is the only man in my life" to "we are different stages of life"....lol if she had simply said that I will only ever love my late husband, Viaan would still have understood that better. But no, she had to confidently lie her way through a variety of excuses before getting to the point of facing her actual fear that she feels that feeling anything for Viaan is a betrayal of her love for Adi. Anyways, however we got to this point....atleast we got some clarity on the actual root cause of her denial and fear.

As you pointed out, it was very easy for Katha to fall in love with Adi....they went from best friends to lovers and she seemed to always find it very easy to talk to him. Viaan is the polar opposite both in terms of personality as well as his equation with Katha....and Katha is now making silly excuses like pyar mein dilon ki dhadkan badhti hi nahin😆....the woman who went around telling everyone that her and Adi were the quintessential super romantic couple wants people to believe that your heartbeat doesn't quicken when you're in love😆. But chalo she managed to burst her own bubble there while talking to ghost Adi....lol today was I think just day 1 of her beginning to face her denial....she will only fight it harder now. She's trying to write off her feelings, her racing heartbeat for Viaan as signs of "anxiety"😆....so she will likely start a new round of attempts to MANAGE this issue by giving more bhaashans on "practicality" to Viaan😆.

Even after getting her inner conscience holding up a mirror about her denial, Katha is only going to dig in deeper it seems in the coming days....lol it's going to be a battle between Viaan's unshakeable resolve in his love for her and Katha's determined denial of the truth of her feelings for Viaan.

I just wanna add that katha will fight her feeling as much has she want but once u start caring for someone or getting pulled towaruhim it’s hard to pull back u can’t control Yourself no matter what u say to urself

Great post by all. Today's scene between Katha-ghost Adi gave clarity on Katha in denial mode. She knows that something is there when she's near Viaan versus Adi is her comfort zone or how she termed it as sukoon. Also, like you guys mentioned, Katha initially spooked by Adits ghost to finally talking it out was nicely performed. All the daily stuff related to Adi which would be boring is all cute to her and how Adi is a beautiful dream to her.

Also, while Adi ko dekhar heartbeats badti h, Viaan ke saath badjaati h. I kept chuckling about loud heartbeats 💓 💗 from last week. 🤣Pura dhak Dhak chalra tah lol. 😂 pats nhi kyun at that dialogue lol.

Exactly. Aditi is really an excellent actress. Her vulnerability, her fear, her guilt so beautifully potrayed. And the makers tackles this scene in the most sensible manner....

I also thought about this. But I think Adi is a very personal and private matter to her. Just like how she doesn't ever even try to process her feelings about the ONS, in the same way she closed the box on Adi with a tight lid and just started surviving.... Now, she was that shook by her feelings for Viaan that she opened that box again....

Yeah, I think she is going to try her level best to do everything in her power to stop her feelings for Viaan. I feel she is going to destroy him and herself in this process before finally accepting his love... I feel like the main story will actually start now.... But let's see where the makers are going with this...

Hiding is one thing.....many FLs on ITV have done that before also in such second chance love stories of widows. Katha's case is a bit different because of the almost BRAZEN confidence with which she lies easily😆. If you are hiding something from others, you atleast feel some level of internal conflict/turmoil.....but Katha is such an expert at even lying to herself most of the time that she is able to confidently project an alternate reality to whoever is in front of her.....how coolly she lied to Ehsan earlier in the epi that I am very sure I don't have any feelings and then by the end of the epi she was falling apart in admitting that her heartbeat quickens around Viaan😆

This scene we got yesterday showed that Katha looks almost unhinged with how much she suppresses inside herself....she had a bit of a manic look in her eye at even the possibility of her presumptions about love and a racing heartbeat not being true.....lol

It's not even just the confidence with which she lies to herself and others.....lol it's the way she tries to wrap it up in GYAAN like she is some all-knowing jagat maata😆....the way she tries to justify her lies by wrapping it in speeches about "practicality" like she alone knows how to do things the right way in this world😆....that's where it gets excessive as a character.

I don't know if she will destroy herself and Viaan in the process but I would love to see someone calling out Katha on her smug self-righteousness and hypocrisy in dishing out all this gyaan and lying so easily.

Yes, I'm definitely glad that we got a scene like this to give some insight into Katha's state of mind as a character....but I do wish the writers would find a better way to show her internal conflict than simply making her tell these easy lies to everyone and then jump to having dreams about Adi to confess what she's actually thinking....lol matlab for a woman who is otherwise being shown as so principled and self-less in this story, it's definitely bizarre that she feels no hesitation in lying so easily and so often.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that Katha trying to be practical is totally understandable.....but her LYING about being "very clear" etc. is where it sort of undermines her character.

If she was only giving gyaan on being practical in life in general, her words would have held more weight. But right now, she is coming across as delusional and hypocritical. The fact that no one in the story calls her out on it and instead are busy worshipping her like some all knowing goddess further makes it weird😆

On the other hand, the Viaan that everyone is calling impractical and impulsive loverboy mode right now is coming across more sincere in what he's saying and doing.

When you keep lying repeatedly and so confidently, it undermines you as a character.
