OK. I will make it apoint.

Report button?😆
Well also one reason for dying forum is that IF has become outdated.
Members are few. If you look at other forums they are pretty dead as well.
New members just sign up and vanish .
The success of IF was good ITV shows which lead people to come to IF. Everything is dying so IF and forums have to suffer as well. 😆 unless new changes are made to promote forums on IF.
Mujhe MOD banado, forum wapis se alive ho jana hai 😂
😆
No, I meant able to look at the ‘Post’ feature, they disabled that last year I think
Not saying that would revive the forum or anything, the forum had seen very quiet days when that feature was alive too
But I think it might make it slightly, ever so slightly busier
This forum is like John Wick. Keeps on dying but doesn't actually die.
When it comes to forum age, I am an ancient one. I've seen the forum through a few ups and downs.
There are a few reasons for this forum becoming dead and why it may not come back.
- Bollywood is not the same as it used to be. With streaming and pan-Indian cinema, audiences have a lot more choices and preferences. The movies that get people excited are by far and few.
- The era of the superstars is done. SRK, Salman, Aamir, Hrithik, etc., had massive fandoms willing to go bat for them. Ranbir and Ranveer are the only ones with massive fandoms. But when their movies blow hot blow cold it is hard to keep momentum.
The biggest change is the generational shift. There will always be exceptions - but from my mortal observations - teens were the biggest shitposters and provided kindling for fan wars (remember the DMG forum?), and there was a large swath of young adults who enjoyed Bollywood and engaging with folks about it. Shitposters matured and also got busy with higher ed/careers. Young fans also got married, got more job responsibilities, and overall became busier.
In the past as one group moved on, it was replaced with another group. That is not happening because how media is consumed has changed as well. GenZ prefers shortform video content. They are making reels or TikToks - they will not engage in a forum. Many serious fans are watching video essays, reviews, and discussions about the media they like.
Perhaps fans will start engaging as usual again once Bollywood revives - but who knows what the future holds. I think there is need to rethink.
You analyzed it so well!
I agree about Gen Z factor the most!
Private Forums is also one of the culprits behind the death of BWF. wiase bhi 9 &1/2 active members hain iss forum pe, wo bhi private mein baatein karne chale jaye toh how can it survive?😆
